CHAPTER 10: Whispers of Change

AUTHOR'S POV:

It's been a few weeks since the outing day and everything has changed yet nothing is changed

Devansh and Ishika's friendship is growing stronger personally and they both made a great team as professionals.

In these few days they made a routine to have their lunch together and their holidays are reserved for 4 of them either hangout or spend time at home of any of theirs

In all this while Veer and Devansh have made a great bond with Meera too and Meera's opinion also changed after meeting them

Initially her (meera) thoughts were not in favour of her daughters being friendly with their boss and as a mother she was just worried about her daughters... and which mother wouldn't...

But eventually she too liked them knowing their nature and them as person

As for Rishika and Veer they are well just complicated romantically but their friendship is intact as it was before.

All this time they all and especially both the girls are hot topics for the office gossips because of their relationship with their bosses

Somewhere all of them have an idea about it but everyone ignores it as none of their colleagues have said anything to their face neither do they care for what other people talk about them as what they as bond with each other is more stronger than the mere time pass gossips.

In all these days one Sunday both the girls had shared their all the things that happened on the day of outing

Initially Ishika was worried and her insecurities had taken a toll on her mind and she poured her heart out with Rishika about her feelings and thoughts about her friendship with Devansh and their bonds

Rishika listened attentively, offering a blend of empathy and wisdom. She understood her situation and also knows her insecurities and trust issues she has

"Ishika," she said, "sometimes, the heart knows what the mind is yet to accept. Embrace the journey, and let yourself feel whatever is coming on your way."

Listening to her she just let it go and finally embrace the change with open arms and let the things left on her destiny

Today is one another morning and The morning sun painted the sky with hues of soft pinks and oranges, mirroring the tranquility Ishika felt as she woke up.

The past few weeks escapade lingered in her mind, leaving an indelible mark on her heart. The weight of worries and expectations seemed to have lifted, replaced by a newfound sense of contentment. Yet, beneath the surface, conflicting emotions stirred.

After waking up Ishika completed her morning chores and made her way to the breakfast table as usual

"Good morning guys" she wished with her usual cheerful voice and both Meera and Rishika greeted her

Soon they both completed their breakfast and bid bye to Meera and made their way to office

Reaching the office they both went to Devansh's cabin as usual and knocked the door

"Come in" came a cold professional voice of Devansh as he was engrossed in work he hadn't seen them

"Good morning Bhai/Ansh" both wished him

"Good morning girls" he greeted with a wide smile

"Where is Veer, bhai... I haven't seen him yesterday also... Is he not coming to the office " Rishika asked

"No behna actually he has gone to Delhi for an urgent meeting with the new client and there is a conference also. Initially I was about to attain but here Mr. Desuza is eating my brain like hell with the contract and terms and conditions so I have to be present here" he answered her and Rishika made 'O' face

Somewhere sadness was visible on her face but covered with a smile

Seeing this Devansh said "As I said it was urgent he left last night only and now must be in the middle of the meeting, else he would have texted about his plans in our group as usual"

Yes they always inform their plans and things in the group as they consider each other more than friends and they don't keep any secrets within themselves be it personal or professional.

Soon Devansh ordered coffee for all of them and started discussing their current project they are working

While they were discussing and working on the project they didn't realise it was lunch time

Both the girls made their way to cafeteria and Devansh left for the client meeting as his lunch will be with them only

Ordering lunch both the girls started chatting about random stuff and something clicked in Ishika's mind and said or more like asking Rishika

"Rishh have you noticed mom, I mean form past few days she seems a bit off . She just seem so lost these days and even she talk with us she mostly either agrees with or just make small talks with us"

"Yeaa Ishaa I was about to ask you the same, you know yesterday evening when I took half day and went home as I was feeling little uneasiness because of headache... I saw Maa so lost in her thoughts even when I call her few times she didn't answer

When I shake her little, it was then she realised that I reach early

I tried to ask but she just dropped off the topic so then I thought to talk to you" she said

"There is something major bothering her, else she won't behave like this" Ishika said with a hint of tension and Rishika agreed to her

"I guess we need to talk to her... How about today night after dinner we will talk " Ishika said

"Yeahh you are right, don't worry we will sought it out together.. we'll talk to her today only..." Rishika said with assuring smile

Soon after their lunch and talking they both engrossed themselves in their work

It was late evening and both Ishika and Rishika after completing their work made their way to home

After reaching home and freeshen up they both had their dinner with Meera and shared their day with her and made small talks

Noticing her behaviour they both looked at each other and decided to talk after dinner

After completing their dinner,

Ishika said and looked at Rishika to which she gave her an assuring smile

"Mom, please come here we both need to talk to you about something....
