Who knew his house would look like a junkyard. Electric household supplies were lying around the garden, which was surely not waiting to be picked up any time soon. Gyro ignored my stares and entered the house. One look up and I got scared. Even the roof was plastered with junk. I was surprised the house didn't collapse under the weight. And inside it was no better.

The junk filled the rooms as well. Curious I looked around wondering where I would be sleeping. Gyro turned the lights on and gestured for me to follow him upstairs. Seeing one room with a bed I stepped towards it until...

"That is my room!"

It got weird once his arm reached up to a rope on the ceiling revealing a ladder. My new room would be...the attic. It was really low so I can only crawl around. Also junk filled every corner of this place. Gyro placed a lamp, a pillow and a blanket at the entrance, "300 bucks a month, the bathroom is down the hall, the kitchen is downstairs, my room is off limits, total silence at ten sharp and you have to buy your own food. Any more questions?"

"One"

His brow twitched assuming I wouldn't ask anything, "...go on..."

"Can I stay after the week is done?"

It may sounded insane but come to think of it, the rent was low for being central and the amount can be paid by my intern job. The room can be decorated and cleaned in a few days while getting my stuff later this week.

Gyro wasn't prepared for that. His eyes were clearly surprised, "Does this mean you will remain an intern, even after the week passed?"

I grinned, "If you let me stay I can guarantee that I can pay the rent."

The scientist was thinking before replying with a, "Well then, welcome home."

I nodded.

Before he closed the door to the attic he said, "No food or drinks in the attic".
Another nod and the door was shut.
I tried my best to get comfortable but with no mattress is it difficult to get comfy. And the darkness was terrifying. The little window lets in some streetlight but falling onto the junk makes it look scary. As monsters were looking at me.

Gyro sat with little bulb in the living room. He couldn't believe to have a roomie in his house. The thought alone made his feathers crawl. Bulb reminds him of the great opportunity, to get some extra cash to invest into his inventions.
The scientist smiled at the idea of the money but still, to have someone around annoys him. He has to be at the lab early in the morning so it was for the best to get to bed soon. On his way to his room he heard something.

It sounded like sobbing.

I jumped under the sound of a broomstick hitting the door to the attic, "It's ten sharp...be quiet!"

Does he have a heart, I thought. A new home can be scary and with the scary looking toaster nearby it did make it any better. Slowly and quietly I opened the door.

Gyro was already in his PJ while little bulb sat on the night table to recharge. For the scientist a normal night routine. Placing his hand and glasses on the table he closed his eyes and hoped to dream about his next breakthrough invention.

A robot with human behaviour that could help the maids in their chores...no scrap that...he already made it and it turned evil. Suddenly, another vision came to him. One that looked like a robot woman again, with big begging eyes while her slender fingers rocked him to sleep. The grip tightened, something wasn't right.

Now it was Gryo's turn to break his own rule of silence, screaming though the house. I sat beside his bed, "Can I please stay here for the night?"

Gyro grabbed his chest to calm his heart, "Are you out of your mind?! Go back to your room!!!"

"But here's an evil toaster up there."

He couldn't believe it, "A young adult scary of a toaster. I thought I seen it all. There is no evil toaster. Go to bed!"

I tried to crawl into his as he shrieked, "Your own bed!!!"

Sitting there with crossed arms I refused to set foot up there. Gryo had no choice but to prove that there is no such thing as an evil toaster.

At the attic he went on all fours to find that monster machine. I pointed that the direction and the scientist was close to have a rage, "Are you kidding me?! This is what you are afraid of?!" The lights made the faces on the toaster.

I was embarrassed by this.

Gyro turned around to leave and hit a pile of junk with his foot. Buried underneath it I started with little bulb at the scene. I asked him if he neededs help but his reply was mainly for me to get lost. Until something moved next to him. A robot came towards the lights looking at Gryo with a tender smile, "Aww did my poor baby make a mess?"

The scientist panicked remembering the robot and looked at me with horror," Hurry up and help me!"

"You just told me to get lost."

"Who is this woman?" Ask the robot with a harsh tone.

"No one just a ...housemaid."

"Housemaid?!!!" What is he up to I thought.

The robot grabbed Gryo and hugged him tenderly. At least that is how it looks his scream of pain told another story. That robot was surely attached to her master. Gyro now begged me to help but his last words still stung, "Who are you calling a housemaid? I live here and pay for this hole!"

The robot kissed Gyro, "Don't listen to her baby cakes. I will read everything you wish for of your lips." The scientist was panicking under the touch while I looked irritated at little bulb. That buddy already left us two alone. He sure must know something I don't.

Gyro tried his best to get out of the grip breathing heavy, "Let go of me!"

"Never my love!"

I raised a brow, "Did you build her to be your lover or something?"

"Robotica was created to help housemaids on their daily chores but went evil for some reason."

"Why is she in the attic?"

He laughed uncomfortable, "Well I fixed her and her purpose was to work at the garage to repair cars." Unfortunately her feelings for a certain machine turned her evil again, "Now she thinks that I am her love." He forgot that he stored her in the attic after the incident.

"Well since she keeps you company I can sleep in your bed, right?"

"Don't you dare!" He growled. The robot nodded, "No other woman sleeps with my darling Gearloosey but me".

I raised my hands in defense," Have him. I just want some quality sleep for myself."

"What do you think I want?!" barked Gryo.

"Obviously some extra time with a dumb robot."

...

The silence was deadly.

...
"What do you call me?" Said robotica is a very deep tone, a menacing deep tone.

"No, no, no, no, no!!!"

Gyro was thrown over to me as the robot followed soon after. I didn't know what was going on. I felt how Gryo grabbed me and pushed the door shut.

"RUN!" Was all he said as the door flew off his hinges.
