TW: More Angst

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
June, 1677
He stared out the open window in their house, ignoring everything around him including the figure on the bed. He traced circles into the windowsill that he was sitting on as he watched the sunset.
Yellow, pink and purple swirled on the clear blue sky, creating a beautiful mix of colors that reflected on the lake below. A soft smile graced his lips. As long as she was gone, he could smile and be happy and be himself for a little while.
He leaned towards the window, hearing the delicate, soft sounds of the birds singing outside. He felt the wind against his face. He could feel the summer heat as well. He wished he could go outside, but she didn't want him to.
He was too 'dark' to go outside, whatever that meant. She told him that after the summer ended, he could go outside since he won't look like a slave so much. He shivered at that thought. He wondered what she did to him. He always came back with a new scar after he had visited her. He noticed it as much as he tried to hide it.
"East." He called out. East didn't respond to him, opting to continue to stare out the open window.
"East." He called out again. He sounded like he was pleading. He couldn't ignore that. He finally turned towards the figure huddled in blankets on the bed. His pleading, forest green eyes pierced into his, begging for him to come closer.
"East, please come to bed. You need it." He replied to his silent question. How did he know? East didn't tell him that he hadn't slept for three days.
Then again, he always seemed to know what he wanted or needed. He couldn't lie, the bed was enticing. However, he couldn't will his body to move. He couldn't sleep. Not after what he woke up to. Not after what she did to him while he was asleep.
He had felt so violated. Did she not care about him? Another shiver. Tears pricked at his eyes. He frowned and held his arms out, open for East to crawl into.
"You can sleep with me tonight if you want." He offered. East didn't hesitate. He ran over and nearly tripped trying to get into his arms. Instantly, he felt the warmth and security of his arms as they encircled him.
East didn't care about the coldness of the necklace he wore. Lenni had given it to him before they were separated from him.
East clutched at his shirt, cuddling impossibly close to him. He felt him smile and kiss the top of his head. He cuddled even closer. East usually didn't like physical touch, but he needed it now.
"As long as I'm here, she won't hurt you." He whispered against his hair as East fell asleep.
If only you were here now
Sometimes, it feels like she's in the others
Another one-shot in like a day! I do that sometimes. I didn't add relationships otherwise it would've given it away about who the other guy is. However, can you guess because I love to give my readers a good guessing game and I wanna see if you know some of NJ's history. Also, Lenni is Lenni Lenape or the Delaware people. Lenni took care of NJ when he was younger. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
