Hospital Days

Their dad knew she wasn't alright he didn't want to make her feel any worse for not answering - I'm in tons of pain- Mae thought wanting to talk but not able to, their dad placed a teddy bear next to her the bear was white with cute black eyes, a tie dye shirt that read 'Get well soon', a cute mouth and nose, and it held a lollipop she held on to it their mom and dad left they were to upset and didn't want anyone else to cry so they headed home Mae kept shaking her head -Why can't I talk?- Mae thought "she wanted to dance like Uma Thurman" Mae mumbled her brother looked at her "Hm?" he said walking over to her and sitting on the other side of the bed, he got his phone out and put Uma Thurman on for her not to loud but loud enough she could hear it clearly she then dozed off back to sleep after the song ended. After about about two more hours it was now 10 pm and she woke up now more aware then she was before "W-where am I?" Mae choked out her voice ragged from sleep, and tears "Hospital." Wasabi said "Why am I-I h-hear?" she again choked out "You broke a nerve in your left foot." Jax said sitting next to her. Everyone stared at her "o-oh?" Mae said her voice becoming more fully awake, a knock came at the door it was a nurse "Hello Mae, I'm going to be your nurse for the night. I just wanted to come see if you were awake and to check everything" The nurse said having a genuine smile Mae nodded the nurse walked over looked at the blood pressure, heart beat, pain meter, and oxygen level "Everything seems to be in order besides your pain, but that's normal. I'll bring you pain medication." The nurse said before leaving -Wow technology these days- Mae thought. four minutes later the nurse came back with a cup of water and some pain medication she handed it to Mae, Mae took the medicine and swallowed with water little sloppily she still wasn't fully awake "Sis!" Jax chuckled as she looked weird taking a drink of water the nurse smiled and left after logging in the check in of how she was doing. "Goof you need a straw to drink water!" Jax said laughing a bit the others chuckled a little too -Maybe I don't want a straw?!- Mae thought she was now fully awake and could talk normally now "What time is it?" Mae asked awake Hiro looked at his watch "10:10 pm" he said looking back up "Why got a date?" Jax said smirking "No." she gave him a death stare before she hit him hard "Ow. sorry sorry." Jax chuckled Mae sat up, Tadashi and Wasabi left they went into school pretty early to get school work done so they could hang around "Bye Mae we'll come see you tomorrow." Wasabi and Tadashi said in unison she nodded then they left. Everyone continued to talk everyone made jokes to lighten the mood which it did Mae was laughing so much and so was everyone else it was now midnight so everyone decided to go home since we had school it was amazing it was a happy Wednesday she was winning in the competition and she then broke a nerve and everything went down hill Mae sighed and stayed up watching the Big Bang Theory till 5 am.
