Small

I feel so small. When I look up at the trees they seem so tall. Then I remember the sky, which reaches so high, and the universe which I can't see with my eyes.
Everything feels so big. I observe this world, but have no place in it. My fear of others, can't I get over it? I can barely look one in the eye. I run away from the world, shy. But I can't help but look back at it in awe, spectating a world so big, yet so small.
I collect myself inside. I tell my scared self, 'You can no longer hide!'
And I remember I'm not the only one who's shy, who's afraid to look someone in the eye, who's afraid to assert herself in life, who's afraid to expand her loop of a life, who's afraid to embrace changes and grow, who's afraid to be open to things she doesn't know.
I remember that I'm always being watched by the Creator, the world's One and Only Maker. That gives me confidence, so I emerge, into this beautiful, horrible, lovely world.
Though I'm uncertain of the future, that's not my place to know. So I trust that I will prosper, and let myself let go...

(Message from author, Seja Tanaala: I hope you all enjoyed this poem written by Sweetie, Sunflower's best friend! She first appears in the first book of he Sunflower Series, Sunflower and the Quest for the Golden Flower. This poem was written in hopes of reaching those who are afraid, uncertain, or even curious about the future. I hope it can give you a sense of courage and confidence to let go of the ordinary and be open to the new, the truth, and beauty that life can be. Please enjoy! I will try to upload a poem written by each character in The Sunflower Series, each expressing their concerns, problems, or something/one they love very much, so that any of you could be comforted, reassured, or inspired! By remembering the Creator of everything, who watches all of us, I hope it can give you the determination to make the right choices and changes in your lives, like it did for Sweetie!)
