Chapter 1 - Growing Pains

Kara and Rebekah were alone in the mansion.

Rebekah looked around the room, saddened by the reminder of Klaus' absence.

Kara picked up one of Klaus' drawings and stared at it, unable to restrain her grief. She threw all the drawings off the table onto the floor as she growled in anger and frustration.

Rebekah walked closer. "Kara . . ."

Kara calmed down, sensing Damon's presence. "You should know better than to sneak up on ladies."

"Good advice," Damon said. "Have you seen any?"

Rebekah turned to look at him. "Tragic about Elena. Not to make a gray cloud grayer, but does Matt even have automobile insurance?'

Damon rushed closer, raising the indestructible White Oak stake. Rebekah caught his wrist, preventing him from killing her and gripped his throat, rushing across the room. She squeezed his wrist until his grip loosened and he dropped the stake.

Gunfire came in from outside and Rebekah was shot in the back.

Damon instantly rushed away, leaving.

Kara turned around. "Rebekah!"

Rebekah looked at her sister, starting to desiccate as she fell to the ground.

Kara approached the window, looking outside and an arrow was shot into her heart. She gasped as she slowly desiccated and fell to the floor next to Rebekah.

Caroline, Kara and Rebekah were sitting in the back of a van, restrained.

Caroline was already awake, sitting next to Kara.

Kara woke, trying to break free.

"Vervain ropes," Caroline told her. Kara looked at her. "Looks like Alaric outed us all to the Council."

"The Council?" Kara repeated. Rebekah woke. "What exactly do they think they can do to us?"

Suddenly the tires screeched as the van flipped over multiple times, causing the windows to shatter and the force jostled the girls around. The van landed on its slide and the girls were now lying down, panting from the shock.

"What the hell happened?" Rebekah asked. 

The door was ripped open by Tyler.

Caroline looked at him in shock. "Tyler?"

"I'm harder to kill than you think," Tyler said, ripping the vervain ropes off Caroline, freeing her.

"You're alive?" Caroline asked, crying in relief. "How are you alive?"

"No time," Tyler answered. "Come on, we gotta go."

Tyler helped Caroline stand and she walked out of sight.

"Wait, what about us?" Rebekah asked.

Tyler crouched down, keeping his voice low so that Caroline didn't hear. "Keep them busy, little sisters."

Kara and Rebekah stared at him in disbelief, realizing Klaus was alive and possessing Tyler.

Tyler/Klaus walked away.

Kara was in shock. "No, that's not possible!"

Kara and Rebekah tried to free themselves but were unable to and eventually gave up.

All the vampires the Council had caught were being kept in a barn on Pastor Young's farm. Kara, Rebekah, Stefan and Elena were separated in holding pens. Kara and Rebekah were on one side while Stefan and Elena were opposite them.
