Chapter 7 - We'll Always Have Bourbon Street

Adrian was the next hybrid to be unsired, he screamed in agony while chained up as he forced himself to turn.

Tyler, Riley, Hayley and Kim were watching him.

"Please, no more," Adrian begged. "I can't."

"Yes, you can," Tyler told him. "Block out the pain."

Adrian yelled, forcing his bones to crack.

"That's enough," Kim said, walking towards Adrian. "This is torture."

"Kim, stop," Hayley told her. "He needs to finish."

"Not today, he doesn't," Kim replied.

"Yes, today," Riley said. "Nate, Dean and Chris are all dead, which makes Adrian Klaus' right hand. We can't let Adrian anywhere near Klaus until his sire bond is completely broken."

Kim unshackled Adrian, helping him stand and moved to leave.

Tyler stopped them. "Riley's right. The bond isn't broken until he doesn't feel the pain of transformation anymore. If we wanna get back at Klaus for everything he's done, Adrian has to keep turning."

"He doesn't have to do anything," Kim told them. "Isn't that the point of breaking the sire bond, free will? Let's go, Adrian."

Kim led Adrian out of the barn.

Riley and Hayley exchanging a look, scoffing.

Riley and Hayley were now in Shane's office, searching his desk.

Shane walked in. "Trespassing, breaking and entering, all before noon."

Riley and Hayley looked at him.

"Having trouble breaking Adrian," Riley told him.

"Don't worry about it," Shane said. "You already got the 12 hybrids I need."

"We have 11," Hayley corrected him. "I told you, Tyler Lockwood isn't part of the deal."

Shane walked around to stand behind his desk while the Marshall sisters moved to stand on the other side.

"Well, neither is 11 hybrids," Shane told them. "You deliver me 12 without loyalties to Klaus or your friend Tyler becomes fair game."

Riley leaned towards him, her eyes hard. "You haven't held up your end of the bargain."

Shane chuckled, softly and grabbed a flash drive out of his jacket pocket. "Everything you always wanted to know about your biological parents. And it's encoded, in case you're thinking of a smash-and-grab. Just bring me 12 unsired hybrids and it's yours."

Riley looked at Shane, determined.

Tyler, Riley and Hayley were sitting in the Mystic Grill, watching Adrian and Kim playing pool.

Riley looked at Tyler. "They're gonna get us all killed and we're just sitting here."

"Kim's right," Tyler said. "The point of breaking the sire bond is being free. They don't have to listen to me."

"Yes, they do, Ty," Hayley told him. "You can make them. Hybrids are werewolves first. Wolves run in packs and every pack needs an Alpha or they end up challenging each other for dominance. Kim is challenging your position as Alpha. You need to put her in her place. Now."

Tyler stood and walked over to Kim and Adrian. Riley and Hayley followed him.

Adrian hit the 8 ball with his cue stick and Tyler grabbed it, stopping the game.

"Long day tomorrow, Adrian," Tyler told him. "You want it to go better than today, you need to get some rest."

Kim walked closer, grabbing a cue stick. "Who do you think you are?"

"The guy telling you to call it a night," Tyler said. Kim swung the cue stick, trying to hit him, but Tyler grabbed it, stopping her. "This could get a lot uglier right now, but I'm not gonna let it. Challenge me again, this conversation will end differently. You understand?"

"Fine," Kim said. "Whatever you say."

"Finish your drink and get Adrian back to the stables," Tyler told her. "We'll meet you there."

Tyler pushed Kim back as he let go of the cue stick and walked away with Hayley following him.

Riley gave Kim a look, tilting her head before walking away.

Kim pressed her lips together, starting to walk away.

"Where are we going?" Adrian asked.

Kim looked back at him. "To pick a fight."

Kim walked away and Adrian followed.

Kim had abducted Caroline to torture her as a way to challenge Tyler and after a confrontation, he managed to get all the hybrids to submit to him so that they could work together to get revenge against Klaus.

The next day, Riley and Hayley were waiting for Shane in his office.

Shane walked in. "You ever hear of a text message? Maybe just give a guy a heads-up."

"Adrian finished breaking the sire bond, you have your 12 hybrids," Riley told him. "Now, where are our parents?"

Shane sighed. "They're dead."

"You lied to us?" Hayley asked.

"No, I didn't lie to you," Shane answered. "I said I'd tell you where to find them." He held up the flash drive. "This is everything you ever wanted to know, including where they're buried."

Riley walked closer, angrily grabbing the flash drive. "You just picked a fight with a werewolf, you know that, right?"

Shane held up his hands. "Easy, killer, all right? I'm not declaring war here. Now, just 'cause they're dead, doesn't mean you can't see them again."

"What?" Hayley asked.

"Oh, this is far from over," Shane told them. "We are the beginning."

The Marshall sisters looked at Shane, warily.
