Luxmi had never been one to complain, not all the time at least.
It was hard to be able to "fit in" to society as a "pureblood" when she was far from it. Her parents literally shipped her off to the Potters once they heard of her abilities and even after being offered a home in London, a beautiful warm home compared to the coldness of Canada, they refused. The Potters accepted her with graceful, loving arms and let her see the world for a different perspective.
James, who had an open mind and a want to have a new target to prank, loved Luxmi, even though she always cussed him off 24/7. It was when he left for Hogwarts that the one-year age gap between them showed. She terribly missed her (almost) brother and wished she could attend Hogwarts soon enough, and that day came.
"Luxmi if you don't get up I swear I will actually hex you." James said, trying to wake up the sleeping beauty. "Get out." She mumbled, she easily got pissed off in the mornings. After she had heard the door close, she lazily got up and yawned, trying to take in as much time as she could before she left home, for a few months but still. She figured maybe she should change into something nice. It was her first day, but wouldn't she have to just throw on a robe? It didn't matter, if she wanted to make friends she would have to look nice.
After a tiring 30 minutes of outfit picking, she found a nice dress that she got last week and threw it on. "Luxmi, come on we're leaving soon!" Fleamont called from downstairs, the Potters were always on time. "I'm coming!" She yelled back, but yet no reply, they always did this. So, she had to rush and go downstairs to see James. Oh, how she dreaded to have to see him every day in school. "Where's Sirius?" She said, tilting her head. The boy was always at the Potters, and she was quite fond of him. "Oh, we're meeting him at the platform, his parents are dropping him off." James said with a bitter taste for the word "parents". As far as she knew, Sirius's parents were far from similar to hers.

"So this is it?" Luxmi said, slightly frowning as she glanced at each of her parents, not James, though she would see enough of him this year. "Don't be upset, we can write to each other, and you'll see us on the winter break. That is if you choose to stay," Euphiema said, bending down slightly to be at eye level with her daughter. Luxmi nodded and, without saying a word, hugged both of them tightly while she could hear James and Sirius laughing in the distance. They were twats to her constantly.
Her parents set her off with James and Sirius as they scanned the platform and made their way to the train until Sirius scowled at someone who was just boarding the train. James nudged him. It was Regulus. Her mother had warned her about him because of his parents. It seemed like Sirius didn't like his brother very much, not like Luxmi "hated" James. "Is that Sirius's brother?" She whispered to James cautiously so Sirius wouldn't hear her. "Barely even is his brother but, yeah. Don't go talking to him, he's bound to end up like his parents." James warned her bluntly, the mood now turned sour.
So she kept quiet, something she did often.
The train itself was bleak and busy, nosies entered her ears like resolutions that hardly stayed, she stood there, in the middle of the corridor of the train until James called her. This was her new reality, her new home? She didn't like it, not one bit. She wanted her mom.
