Critter Pick event inspired chapter/one shot. I just finished the event and thought that they were soooooo cuteeee!! So I'm making a one shot about it, at this point for some context Y/N is already in the train and started generating the little creatures sending every picture to Blade who was back at base. I know the MC does them but like shhhhh. Also I didn't clarify but for the remainder of the story the Trailblazers (Imma prob do Fem MC since I use her) wont have Blades number, Kafka and Silverwolf will just pass messages if needed.

"Phew all that chaos with the new lady, what was her name again? Ran me? Or no, Roon Meey?? Oh, it says it on the box. Ruan Mei (Roo-on May). Right."
I talk to myself as I hold a big box of some random tech I found in her creepy and unsettling little lab. I then get the shivers and decide to move the box to an appropriate spot but then think that since the annoying Trailblazer and the other members of this goddamn train arent here I can finally text Bladie! I set down the box and lean on it and proceed to whip out my white phone with a black koi fish sticker (I made Blade match with me so his black phone case has a white one lmao).
"Bladie, heyy"
"Hi."
"Aw, so cold even after not seeing me for months"
"Sorry y/n, its nice to hear from you and not just some random voice recordings."
I then smile and nod along even though he was obviously not here. (its giving lonely..)
"Awww you dont like hearing my voice as I complain?"
"No because I dont actually hear anything but your daily complaints that I hear everyday."
"Yeah thats the point! So you dont miss me too much, obviously."
I smile proud of my comback as I lean back some more and then a bright idea comes to me.
"hey you, lets facetime!"
"No."
"....I see"
After around half an hour I convinced him to call, not facetime but whatever, at least I'll have my camera on.
"Look at this creepy ass lab Blade!" I flip my camera and show him around as my heart beats faster as I hear his voice again.
"Y/n. Is that a pet I see? I've told you to not get pets Y/n.."
I pause and look down and see the cutest little creature, all squishy and flower-y.
"Ooo its not a pet but i'mm pet it!" I said crouching down and reaching my hand out smiling.
"No you idiot, dont touch it, it's probably poisonous." Ooo he sounded worried...
"Nahh you worry wort, I'll be fine-" I then cut myself off and fall to the ground after touching it, pretending like I was dying and poisoned.
"H-Huh?? Y/N? I told you not to touch it you dumbass!" I then laugh and sit up smiling as I take my phone again.
"I'm fine, just playing with you," I said chuckling at his reaction as his tone completely changed.
"..."
"Imma see where these little guys came from," I said as I go further into the lab and keep talking to Blade on the phone as I then stumble upon a... toilet?? Or a DNA machine, hard to tell.
"Ooo look Bladie! I think I can mix their DNA!" I yelled excited as I lean over it and set my phone up leaning against a plant on top of the DNA machine.
"Just be careful you fool, you might get hurt."
"Yessir.." I said barely paying attention as I get to work on mixing random Critter DNA.
After around an hour of so, Blade tells me that he has to go and hangs up before I can say bye or anything, how typical... I just shrug and keep doing what I was doing and then make a certain Critter that just looks like someone and I hold in a snicker as I pet its little flower body and get my phone out again and send Blade a picture.

"What is that thing Y/N.. you better not bring it home."
I snicker at the text and keep petting the little thing.
"Dont think I can, but doesnt it reminds you of someone??"

"Oh cmon Bladie, I know you think its cuteee"

"He says its cute, well he didnt say it but I can tell. Its Silverwolf by the way, whats up N/N"
I chuckle and then think of a reply.
"Ugh these people are terrible, I miss you guys a lot. Hows Kafka doing? How are you, and Blade, and Master Elio??"
"All good all good. But now we gotta go, mission. Blade says bye and that he misses you."
I blush as I freeze up, he said that??
"Well again, he didnt say say it but I know he does. Okay bye."
It's like she read my thoughts and suspicions. I laugh again and then pick up the Blade cat flower thing and hold it in my arms as I head to the elevator to go back up to the main deck and to my room, unseen of course.
Yes, mission accomplished. I lay down on my bed with the Blade Flower next to me as it snuggles and mews. I hug it and fall asleep. Having dreams of you know who.
I know, super random, but it was such a cute event!! If you dont have the motivation then lemme tell you that we actually do text Blade and its super sweet. So go do it, plus it gives a lot of Stellar Jade for that Ruan Mei or Blade. Okay bye now, I'll post another chapter tomorrow.
