EVERYONE PILED INTO MATT'S CAR, making their way to the designated restaurant, which nick refused to tell anyone the name of, wanting to make it a surprise. jules didn't quite understand the point in that, it wasn't like she would know what he was talking about if he had told her anyways.

when jules got in the car, she took her spot in the back with nick and erin. normally she would have sat in the passenger seat, but obviously that wasn't going to be the case this time. and to be fair, that would be the case for many times to come after this.

they eventually got into the restaurant, and jules quickly noted how homey it made her feel. at their table, she sat down next to erin, and across from nick. matt decided, for some reason, to sit next to nick, making him diagonal to jules. she couldn't figure out why out of all the seats at the table, he'd choose one almost across from her.

dispite the lack of distance between them, the two haven't said a word to each other. taking part in their own conversations. it was like they were trying to pretend the other didn't exist. but no matter how much jules tried to pretend, she could never fully rid him from her mind. she would always take inevitable tiny glances over in his direction, finding it almost impossible not to do so every few minutes. but every time she looked, he never was looking back. she wondered if he did and she just never looked in time to catch him.
