"I have to do what?" I yelled.
My manager, Lisa, looked at me. "You have to partner with Felix for a dive. But it's a simple dive, and you only have an hour to practice. So you don't have to spend too much time with him."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Let's get this over with."
We walked to one of the pools and saw Felix with his manager, Chan.
"Hey guys!" Lisa said. Chan waved and Felix just glared at me.
"The vibes are really cozy in here." Chan laughed.
"Let's start." I put my stuff on the bench and climbed up to the diving board. Felix followed after me and stood behind me. "So what do we need to-"
I was suddenly interrupted when Felix pushed me off and into the pool.
"WHAT THE HELL, FELIX?" I yelled as I came up for air.
"You slipped." He shrugged.
"No you pushed me!" I got out of the pool and ran to the diving board, ready to push him off. Lisa pulled me away before I could climb all the way up, much to my dismay.
"Calm down, Y/N. 1 hour. You got this."
"Fine. But he has to behave himself."
"He will. Now get back on the diving board."
I climbed back up but kept my distance from Felix.
We were instructed on what to do and had to figure out our board formation. We decided to do a sort of Titanic-ish theme. We'd be hugging, then I'd fall of the diving board while reaching for Felix. He'd then jump after me. I'd do a few flips in the air, and so would he. It was about theme and accuracy.
When the time came for us to go up, I could hardly stand the sight of him. It was enough that I had to hug him, but be close to him? No thanks.
"Hug me like you mean it." He whispered in my ear.
"I'll strangle you like I mean it."
"As long as it looks real."
"Oh, it will."
He smirked and then climbed up onto the board behind me. I walked to the edge and then wrapped my arms around his frame. I was suddenly aware of how his muscles flexed under my hands and how defined they were.
"Ready?"
"Yeah." The music started, and we got into position. I let go of hugging him and grabbed his hands. Then 'accidentally' slipped and yelled for him while doing some flips. He yelled back and dove into the water. Then we surfaced and hugged again.
And then he kissed me. Right on the lips.
The crowd went wild, obviously, since we were known as enemies.
I froze as his lips touched mine, and didn't know how to react. But Felix held me close and steady, so I slowly kissed him back. I could taste the chlorine on his lips and feel his arms on my back. His lips felt nice against mine, and butterflies started moving around in my stomach.
Then he pulled away and smiled. He grabbed my hand and held it up for everyone to cheer for us. They all went crazy and then we got out of the pool. I went over to Lisa for my towel and she just stared at me.
"I thought you hated him?"
"I do. He kissed me."
"Dang." I looked over to where I thought Felix was, but didn't see him.
When they announced the winners of the competition, me and Felix, I went up to get our trophy. He was no where to be found, and no one really cared. I got the prize money and then drove home.
I usually see him at the practice center everyday, but I didn't see him again after that.
Was I disappointed? A little bit. But only because I want to hit him for kissing me.
Lisa drove us to the next meet and I got all ready to go in the locker room. As I walked into the hallway, I spotted Felix.
"Felix!" I yelled. He looked at me and ran the other way.
"Jerk." I mumbled. Then headed to my pool. I was only competing in the women's division, so we wouldn't be seeing much of each other.
I placed 1st and retreated to the locker room when I was done. As I was about to walk in, I was pulled into a small, dark hallway.
"Shh." Felix put his finger on my mouth. He looked around to make sure there was no one else around, and then took his finger away.
"What the heck?" I asked.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to kiss you and then disappear, I promise. I was going to talk to you, but then Chan whisked me away to a vacation he had planned for us. He took my phone and wouldn't let me use technology. He wanted me to detox. And I saw you before the meet, but panicked."
"Why did you panic?"
"I'm not sure."
"You aren't sure?"
"Well, I might be sure."
"Then tell me, Felix."
"This might sound weird." He looked at me, and I nodded to go on. "You being competitive is kinda hot. It does something to my being. And you're beautiful. And talented. Not to mention witty, smart, creative, loving, and committed."
I stared at him. Is he saying what I think he's saying?
"I can't help but notice all of these things about you. Y/N, I like you. A lot."
"What? But I thought you hated me."
"Sometimes I dislike you, but I've never hated you. You just bring out the competitive side in me. And I like it." He smirked.
My eyes were drawn to his lips as he smirked and I couldn't help but have the desire to kiss him. So I did.
I quickly leaned forward to kiss him, and then pulled away just as fast.
My hands covered my mouth as I gasped at what I had just done.
"Why are you screaming?"
"Because I just kissed you."
"That wasn't a kiss, that was a peck." He wrapped his arms around my waist. "This is a kiss." Then he cupped my face and kissed me deeply.
I melted into it and kissed him back. My fingers ran through his hair and I felt him get goosebumps all over his arms.
We kissed for a few seconds before he pulled away.
"What does this mean?" He asked.
"I don't know."
"You can't just kiss me and then tell me you don't know what it means."
"Well I feel like we've just always hated each other. I haven't really thought about you like that. Except for the first day we met."
"What? Tell me everything." He smiled.
I laughed. "I just thought you were really cute when I first saw you, and then you pushed me into the pool."
"I'm telling you, I didn't push you! Jisung knocked into me which made me knock into you which made you fall in. I swear I didn't do it."
"That makes sense. He's always telling me that we need to just get together and get rid of this tension we have."
"Really? Who knew he's been on my side this whole time."
I laughed. "You really like me?"
He nodded. "I really do. A lot more than you probably realize."
"Well, I don't know exactly how I feel, but I do know that I don't hate you. And I would like to kiss you again."
"Me too." He smiled at me and pulled me close. "Can I?"
I nodded. He closed the gap and kissed me once again.
Whatever this is, I'm excited to explore it. Because if it means I get to kiss Lee Felix, I'm all for it.
