In the dark of night, a Venomari Soldier flees through the streets of Ninjago City to no avail, as the ninja corner him in an alleyway demanding information on the fang blade's location. "Haha. You're too late," The Venomari said, "Pythor's already there now. He's probably already digging it up. If I were you I'd prepare for the worst, because once the Great Devourer is awakened there is nothing it will not consume!" Zane raised an eyebrow. "Doesn't that mean it will consume you too?" The snake blinked in realisation. "Ah please, you have to stop him!" The Venomari begged, "That snake is crazy! I don't wanna unleash the Devourer! I'm a snake, not food!" "Is it really too late to stop Pythor from getting the last Fang Blade?" Kai asked. "You're days behind him!" the snake explained, "There must be something else you can do!" The ninja all look at each other and sigh before heading back to the Bounty.

"The Venomari's right," Nya told the others, "By the time we cast sail clear across the other side of Ninjago, Pythor will have already beat us to the last Fang Blade." "Oh, come on guys," Jay said, "This is the last one. We gotta get it. We gotta think of something." Cole hummed while Lloyd tapped his arm. "Hey," he said, causing the ninja to look at him. "All we gotta do is get one fang blade to stop him. What if we take back the other three? Pythor wouldn't risk having them all on him. He's probably hidden them somewhere while he goes after the fourth." "It's so simple," Cole stated. "Why didn't we think of that?" Kai asked. "Simple? My algorithm suggests taking back the other three would be far more dangerous," Zane told them, "Pythor has undoubtedly protected them with his top generals." "Finally I don't have to hold back," Kai says, smirking. "Even if you could take back the others," Garmadon said, coming in with Ophelia who he was teaching along with Wu, "You don't even know where they are." "He's right," Wu said. "For the past few weeks there have been almost no Serpentine sightings. It's like they are ghosts." Or snakes," Ophelia realised, "Snakes burrow. Bridge, give me a sonar sweep of Ninjago, but 20 feet below the surface." The bridge made a map that revealed where all the snakes had been. "The tombs have all been interconnected," Kai said. "To make one massive underground fortress," Cole finished. "There," Kai pointed at the map, "That's the most protected area. The fang blades must be held there." "Then what are we waiting for?" Wu asked, "Nya set the course." "Already on it," Nya turned on the ship's controls, "We'll be there by sun-up."

Nya's voice came up over the intercom. "We're arriving at the Mountain of a Million Steps. You might want to see this." "Look at all those dirt piles," Jay pointed out. The mountain had been built up to look like a snake head, most likely the Great Devourer. "What are all those snakes up to?" Cole questioned. Lloyd came running up the stairs, Ophelia trying to get him to come back. "Wait for us." Sensei shook his head, "This is not your fight. The green and silver ninja are too important to a future destiny. You shall stay with me." Nya then flew in with her Samurai X suit. "Well they're gonna have to look after themselves, because we made room for you." "You said you were concerned you couldn't keep up, so Jay and Nya rejigged the design so you could come along," Kai explained, "Well, what do you think?" "I think..." Sensei flipped onto the seat on the suit, "Shotgun! Ha-ha!" Garmadon came out onto the deck, "I shall stay back with Lloyd and Lia. I don't enjoy saying this but... good luck."

After the ninja left Ophelia reluctantly began helping Lloyd with his training before they headed to the bridge to keep an eye on the mission only to see Lord Garmadon downloading data from the ship's computers. "You're stealing after everything that's happened?" Lloyd exclaimed. "I can't help it, evil runs through my blood," Garmadon claimed. "Well then you shouldn't have come back!" Lloyd yelled. "Hello, Ophelia, Garmadon, Lloyd, come in, anyone," Nya's staticy voice came through the ship. Garmadon went towards it to help but Lloyd got in his way. "Just go back to the Underworld, we don't need you!" Lloyd said angrily. Garmadon sadly walked away as Lloyd tried to help Nya, but Ophelia followed the dark lord. "Garmadon, wait, please," Ophelia said, "I know you don't want to help the ninja, but if you do nothing, Ninjago will be destroyed. There will be nothing left for you to rule and Lloyd will get hurt. It's in your best interests to stop Pythor." "You're right Lia," Garmadon admitted, "But what can I do?" "Round up the skeleton army," Ophelia suggests, "they'll have enough numbers to fight the Serpentine and they're still loyal to you. Please, we need your help." "Very well, Lia, but you must promise to look after Lloyd," Garmadon agrees. "I promise," Ophelia said to which Garmadon nodded before leaving to round up the skeletons.

Going back in, Ophelia found Lloyd in the green ninja suit preparing to leave to fight the serpentine by himself. Reluctantly following him the two enter the serpentine tomb, Lloyd falling down the stairs before getting up and challenging Pythor. "Oh, yes, you and what army?" Pythor laughed, as Ophelia stood beside Garmadon in the shadows. "Uh, how about my army of fists?" Lloyd says, trying to punch Pythor, but falling over, causing most of the snakes to laugh. "Or this army!" Ophelia said, stepping out of the shadows with Garmadon and the skeletons. "Dad! Ophelia!" Lloyd shouted. "Lloyd. Lia has made me realise I do have a choice," Garmadon stated, "And if there is anyone who will threaten Ninjago, it will be me!" "The skeleton army?" Pythor barked, "But why would they fight with you? You betrayed them and Samukai long ago!" "Because everybody hates snakes!" Ophelia yelled, causing the skeletons to laugh but then Pythor ruined the mood. "Attack!" he ordered. The skeletons engaged in battle with the snakes, Ophelia releasing the other ninja before continuing to fight the snakes in a whirlpool of elemental energy charging in front of the rest of the army. Then while Pythor and Garmadon fought, she snuck up behind him and stole the fang blades before Pythor turned invisible. "Where'd he go?" Ophelia asked. "Who cares?" Kai asked, "We got the fang blades. Let's go!" The ninja then all spinjitzued up the stairs, out of the tomb and onto the Bounty. Later in the dining room the ninja are enjoying their victory before Lloyd comes in sadly. "He left didn't he?" Ophelia asked, to which he nodded sadly. "Huh, your father was never very good at 'goodbyes'. Or 'hellos' for that matter. Don't worry, you still have us. But, if it wasn't for Garmadon we wouldn't be here now. I'm going to miss him." "Agreed," Wu said, "Tomorrow we will take the fang blades to Torchfire Mountain to destroy them permanently," he said, causing the ninja to cheer.
