Chapter 3: Snakebit

"It's not scary. Um, maybe just a little, but I like scary. Yeah, that's it. I'm the son of the Dark Lord. I love the dark. I eat this stuff for breakfast. I'm gonna make the hypnobrai pay for betraying me. I have to find the Fangpyres. If there's anything a snake doesn't like, it's another snake." Lloyd says, looking for the Fangpyre tomb. "Here, by the mutated tree! I found it! Soon, the serpentine will know who their master is, and it will be I, Lloyd Garmadon! MUAHAHA!" He laughs while opening the tomb as the Fangpyre General comes out. "And who may I ask has released us from captivity?" the Fangpyre General asks, his two heads alternatively speaking. "Uh, Lloyd Garmadon? I released you so you can help me get revenge on the Hypnobrai for betraying me." He says. "The hypnobrai?" The general spat, "Those hypnotising deceivers. It'll be our pleasure." The Fangpyre then leave for Ed and Edna's Junkyard, the home of Jay's parents and begin changing the vehicles in the junkyard into War Machines, before biting Ed and Edna and locking them up.

The next day the ninja walk to Ed and Edna's Junkyard, what they didn't know is that they would come upon a big surprise. "What is it?" Nya asked, when Jay started looking around nervously. "It's quiet, my family is never quiet," Jay says in worry, hurrying over to the fridge where he found his parents tied up. "What happened?" Jay asked angrily, "Who did this?" "Sweetheart, you came!" Edna said. "You've got to get out of here son, it's the snakessss." Ed hissed. "The bite of the Fangpyre, once they sink their teeth in they can turn anything into a serpent!" Wu said in worry. A wrecking ball with a face then comes at them and stares at the ninja and Ophelia, who get into fighting stances. "Duck!" Jay yells, pushing his parents out of the way of the swinging wrecking ball. "Lloyd!" Wu yelled angrily. "Hello Uncle. Looks like we aren't the only family reunion. I'm glad you brought the ninja. I could use some help taking out the trash!" He said, laughing evilly. "If we want to turn your parents back, we need the antivenom in the staff," Nya told Jay. "Easier said than done, sis," Kai said, "We're a little outnumbered!" "Nobody messes with my family!" Jay yelled, "Ninja Go!" Saying that the ninja attack the Fangpyre, Ophelia joins them using spinjitzu and her elemental powers to attack the Fangpyre, easily keeping up with the other ninja. Wu also uses the flute to incapacitate the snakes around him, before Lloyd drowned out the noise with a boombox. "Young nephew!" Wu yelled, "Must I remind you which side you should be on!" "Sorry uncle!" Lloyd mocked, "I can't hear you!"

A large robot then comes charging at the ninja. "Ah, what is that thing?" Kai yelled, pointing at the robot. "Eh, it was supposed to be in your honour son, do you like it?" Ed asked hopefully. "Thanks but no thanks!" Jay yelled, running away from the robot. The ninja eventually manage to defeat the robot and many of the other machines before turning to Lloyd. "Retreat!" Lloyd yelled as he and the General jumped on a rattle copter to escape the ninja. "He's getting away!" Nya yelled. "Now would be a good time to have those dragons," Jay said with a sigh. "There is still a way," Ophelia said. "How?" Jay questioned. "Part of reaching your own full potential is understanding your weapons potential," Ophelia explained, Wu nodding in approval, "Once it is intune with a focused heart, its secrets and powers will be unlocked." "Oh this is not the time to be cryptic, Ophelia," Jay sighed. "She's saying our weapons are vehicles themselves," Zane explained. "Don't tell me I have to ride this thing like a broomstick," Kai joked. "Jay, concentrate on unlocking your golden weapon. Let your heart guide you. Imagine you are taking flight," Ophelia explained. Jay then successfully changed his nunchucks into the Storm Fighter before the others created elemental vehicles as well. "Ha, I hate to hurt Rocky's feelings, but I think he's just been replaced," Cole said with a laugh. Everyone chases after Lloyd with Jay cheering. "Did I do a good job Sensei?" Ophelia asked Wu. "Perfectly done my dear, I could not have explained better." Wu said. "Does your flute turn into anything Sensei?" Nya asked. "I wish," Wu sighed.

Jay then flies past Lloyd. "Woah, what the heck was that!?" Lloyd exclaimed. "Oops, overshot a little," Jay said with a laugh, before turning around and grabbing the staff. "I got it! I got it!" Jay laughed before the Storm Fighter disappeared, "Uh-oh." Jay said, screaming as he fell through the sky. All of the ninjas tried to catch him, ultimately losing focus, causing their vehicles to vanish and Jay is caught by Nya in the Jalopy. "Heh, nice," Jay laughed. "Aww, I knew I liked this girl," Edna said with a smile. "Everyone, Attack!" The general ordered. "Huh? Why isn't it working?" Kai questioned in frustration as he cannot resummon his vehicle. "Your weapon is merely an extension of your mind," Ophelia explained, "If your mind is immobile, so is your weapon." The ninja quickly get into the jalopy before heading back to the Bounty. "Come with me," Nya told Jay's parents, "Once we reverse the venom, we can fix you." "Man the stations everyone!" Jay ordered. "Jay, we better hurry," Kai warned. "I've been waiting for this," Jay said, pushing the flight button, but nothing happened. "Uh, Jay, they're gaining on us!" Kai warned. "Ugh, I don't get what's wrong!" Jay said in frustration, "I spent forever on this! It should work!" "Uhm, son, maybe I can help?" Ed suggested nervously. "Dad, you're okay?" Jay asked happily. "You're darn tootin! Now, let's take a look," he said, fixing a wire, "That should it. Try it now son." Hearing this, Jay pressed the button, causing the Bounty to unfurl its sails and activate its rocket boosters, allowing the ninja to escape. "No, no, no!" Lloyd shouted in frustration, as Nya dropped the staff, allowing the General to reclaim it. "These ninja, they must be stopped," The general said in anger. "Tell me about it," Lloyd muttered in frustration. Back on the Bounty Jay was talking to his parents. "We'll drop you off at the Junkyard as soon as we see the coast is clear. But stay as long as you like. It's nice having you here," Jay said with a smile, giving his parents a hug. "Oh, take a note Edna, of all our inventions, this one is our greatest achievement," Ed said with a smile. "I already know, dear," Edna said with a smile. Walking over to Sensei, Ophelia asked "So, how did I do Sensei?" "Excellently my dear. I want you to train the ninja tomorrow as your next test, but I do not believe it will be long before you earn the Sensei title," he said with a smile.
