Adaline's POV

This morning we were all sitting around the campfire. Alastair was sitting in my lap while I was holding him.

"Do you want me to hold him while you eat?" Carol asked me.

"Sure." I hand Alastair over to her while she hands me a plate of food. I eat my breakfast keeping an eye on Alastair. Carol bounces my baby lightly while talking to him, I smile at her. This is one of the first times she's been able to look at Alastair without almost crying. I look over at Lori to see her and Rick seem closer. I raise an eyebrow at her. She widens her eyes and winks at me. We'll talk after breakfast.

I finish my breakfast by placing the dirty plate in the bucket.

"Hey, I'm gonna go hang out with Lori. think you'll be okay on your own?" I ask Shane. He laughs a little.

"I'll be fine. I'm gonna go check out the barn to make sure it's safe." He says before walking away. I sigh as I watch him. He's been watching the barn with every free second. If it was compromised he would have found it by now, hell he could probably build an exact replica at this point.

I walk over to Lori who leads us on a walk around the property. I wrapped Alastair up in the lightweight blanket to keep the sun off him.

"Did you tell Rick?" I ask once we get far enough away from the camp and everyone.

"Yeah, he's happy."

"So are you going to keep it?" I asked her, I could tell by yesterday that she was debating it.

"Yeah, we're gonna try." She nods. "How was your trip yesterday, you seem tired?"

"It was fine. Shane brought me out to practice killing walkers." I told her. She seemed surprised.

"Really? I'm amazed he let you get within a foot of one."

"He wasn't going to but I convinced him. I've had no experience, I need some to survive."

"Make sense."

"Enough about that. What are you hoping for?" I ask, smiling.

"I don't know. I think having another little boy would be easiest, but having a girl would be different." She says.

"Our babies can be best friends. I'm so excited." I bounced Alastair a bit while laughing with Lori.

"A lot can happen until then." She warns.

"Well, we all will just have to do our best to keep baby Grimes okay," I say, she smiles a little bit. "So I have to know. When did you two find the time?" She laughs and blushes a little.

"Remember the CDC." I open my mouth a little bit. "Carl went to the rec room and we had a shower."

"Damn." I shake my head and never knew Lori had it in her.

"What about you and Shane?" She raises her eyebrows up and down.

"Not since before the apocalypse,'' I told her.

"Why?"

"I got pregnant. Shane was worried about hurting me or the baby. Then the dead started walking and we didn't have the time. Now I can't since I gave birth." I explain to her she nods along agreeing with me.

"I guess that makes sense. Rick was the same way." She tells me.

"We should head back," I say once I realize how far we got from the campsite.

"Yeah.'' She agrees and we head on back. We head to the campsite and begin to do some needed chores. Lori and I help Carol make lunch and clean the dishes from breakfast. I need to do laundry later today. Alastair goes through a lot of clothes, from being dirty or me changing his outfits twelve times. Logistics are for chumps anyway.
