Adaline's POV

This morning the guys went out and searched through all of the bodies finding anything they would that would be useful. They pulled up everything on the table.

"Not bad," Daryl says looking over the weapons they found.

"Flashbangs, CS Triple-Chasers. Not sure how they'd work on walkers, but we'll take them." Shane says looking over at the items. Daryl picks up one of the riot helmets and walker blood leaks out of the helmet onto the ground. His face shows disgust.

"I ain't wearing this shit." He says. T-Dog picks up a glove covered in gross walker stuff. I scrunch my nose at the action. Shane laughs at my face. I elbow him to get him to shut up.

"We could boil them," T-Dog suggests.

"Ain't enough firewood in a whole forest, no! Besides, we've made it this far without them right?" Daryl disagrees with him. I think even after boiling the idea of walker soup being once held in that helmet would still give anyone the creeps.

"Hershel?" Carol calls from the doorway.

"Everything alright?" Rick asks her.

"Yeah, nothing to worry about." She nods with a small smile as Hershel follows after her. I watch as they leave a little worried.

"How long do you guys think you'll be gone?" I ask Shane.

"Probably a few hours. It's gonna take a while to find the rooms we're looking for and to get through the walkers." Shane says.

"Okay. You're gonna be careful right?" I ask him looking up.

"Of course. I'm not about to miss Alastair saying his first word." He tells me. He leans down and kisses me.

While the group starts to get ready Carl puts on a clean helmet which falls down covering his eyes. I laugh at him. Rick takes the helmet away.

"You won't need that, I need you to stay put." Rick breaks the news to him.

"You're kidding!" Car argues.

"We don't know what's in there. If something goes wrong, you could be the last man standing. I need you to handle things here." Carl thinks for a second about it before agreeing.

"Sure."

Shane pulls Carl away for a second leaving me wondering.

"Keep an eye on him," Rick asks me.

"Of course. We're gonna practice Alastair's crawling. Keep him distracted." I tell him knowing he worries about his son's rebellion. Shane comes back over.

"You ready?" Rick asks him, Shane nods at him. "Great, let's go."

Shane kisses me one last time before they all leave. Carl shuts the cell block door.

"Hey bud, come help me," I told him. I go to Beth to take my baby back. She hands him back and spends some time with the other women. I drag Carl with me into my cell.

"Sit here by the door," I tell him. He leans his back against the door. I head to the other side of the cell. "Alastair should be crawling. He's almost there but I figured me and you could work on it." Carl nods happily to be helpful. I set Alastair down.

"Go on baby, go to Carl. Go get him." I say happily. Carl plays along and pats his legs calling for him.

"Come on Alli. Come to Carl. Come on." Carl says happily. I hear Alastair laugh and move onto his hands and knees. Carl keeps calling him. Alastair moves one of his pudgy hands forward. His leg soon follows and his other hand. Carl keeps encouraging him until Alastair crawls all the way to him. Carl picks him up, cheering him on.
