As we look into the window of a large house, we see a boy looking through a brown book with the words "Paldea History" on the front. The boy had brown hair and dark red eyes; he was dressed in a grey and violet blazer, a black T-shirt with a purple stripe down the center, light violet trousers, along with a pair of black sneakers. On his bed was a red and black Greninja being snuggled by a silver Eevee.

It had been a month since he arrived in Paldea, and his birthday had passed, making him 18. The boy would feel a vibration in his pocket, taking out his black and red Rotom phone, he noticed he received a message from his grandfather, Director Clavell.

Ryan, please meet me down near the large house opposite yours; it's time to head to Uva Academy.
Reading the message aloud, he would put his book in his white bag before getting up. All his belongings were already sent to the school, so he only had his backpack with him. "Alright, you two, it's time to head out," he would say to his two Pokémon. Eevee would bark with its cry before climbing onto Ryan's shoulders, while Greninja just nodded before getting back into his Poké Ball.
Leaving the house he stayed in for the last month, he began to make his way down Cabo Poko, Eevee pointing out anything she found of interest.

As they made it to the large house opposite where he was, he saw a familiar old man talking to a girl he had seen around the area but hadn't talked to. "Well, he should be here in a few seconds. Thank you for helping him, Miss Memona," his grandpa said to the girl he now knew as Nemona. "No problem, Director. As long as I get to battle him, that's all that matters," she said with determination, causing the old man to laugh.
