(3rd Person POV)
Ryan and Nemona would stand opposite each other, eye to eye, neither backing down. "Alright, then let's get this started,"Nemona would shout. "You're on." They would both throw their Poké Balls, Spigatito and Quaxly landing on the ground, staring each other down.
(Battle Time) (Sorry if its bad)
"I'll let you go first, Ryan, since you're new and all," Nemona shouted, causing Ryan to smirk. "You just signed your death contract. Sprigatito, let's start this off with an Energy Ball." The Grass Pokémon nodded, charging up a green ball of life energy and shooting it at the Quacksly. "Quacksly, counter it with Water Gun." The duck nodded, the attacks colliding in the center, causing a smoke screen to appear.
*Here's our chance,* Ryan thought before shouting, "Alright, Sprigatito, use Hone Claws and then dash in with a Scratch." The Pokémon did what Ryan said, increasing her attack before running in, her left claw getting larger and glowing white. Nemona tried to see the cat Pokémon but couldn't. "Quacksly, dog-," she was interrupted by Ryan shouting, "Do it NOW." The cat launched at top speed from the white cloud, executing two quick slashes on Quacksly, landing behind it. The duck knelt down before collapsing.
(Battle Over)
Nemona stood there, shocked, taken out in two moves. Yes, the duck was a water type, but Ryan had done it so easily. She returned the water duck to his Poké Ball, saying he did a good job before looking up at Ryan with a lovesick look, seeing him pet his Pokémon.
After Ryan petted both Sprigatito and Eevee, he looked at Nemona with a smile. "Good battle, Nemona," he said, walking over to her. "I agree with you there, Ryan. I didn't think I would lose so fast." She rested her hand on his shoulder, causing him to blush. "T-thanks, Nemona." She looked at him with a smirk.
Clavell walked down to them both with a smile. "That was quite the battle, you two. I'm quite impressed," he said to them. "Anyway, I'm going to head off to the academy so I can sort everything out before you both arrive." They said their goodbyes before Clavell walked off.
"Come on, Ryan, let's head on our way to Mezagoza." Nemona grabbed his hand before dragging him to Poko Path. "Alright, alright, calm down." Ryan walked with her, Eevee returned to her Poké Ball.

As they walked their way through the path to the lighthouse, a small earthquake hit the ground, causing both of them to fall. Nemona landed on Ryan while he held her close on instinct. As the tremor stopped, Ryan and Nemona looked at each other in the eye, each with a blush on their face. "A-are you alright?" he asked in worry. Nemona nodded, trying her best not to freak out since they were so close.
As Ryan helped her up, they heard the cry of a Pokémon, surprising them. "Aagiassss." Making their way over to a ledge, they saw a weird robot-looking Pokémon surrounded by Houndour. Not thinking straight, he would jump off the cliff, shocking Nemona.
