"It's a bit loud dont'cha think?" Hayley's voice heightened as the noise of the loud beach party around her silenced any attempt of communication between her friends.
The brunette now inching up to her face squinted her eyes in confusion and kept her mouth open.
"What?!" Maddy finally responded.
In a fit of defeat, Hayley had given up on asking each girl if they were okay with how the five second clip musically had turned out.
With the tap of her screen, Hayley let out an annoyed sigh and shoved her phone in the back pocket of her low-waisted jean shorts.
The party around her was intense, much like any other one she'd be invited to.
Screams of drunkened teenagers with a bit too much free time, bass beats of pop music sending loud thumps through the sand, and unwanted flirting from random shirtless boys.
Yup, typical party.
Only, Hayley had noticed; she hadn't been getting the high she used to from these sort of events.
The underage drinking, flashing wristbands, the darkness and the sounds of waves in the near distance incapsulating every boy and girl.
It now felt out of place.
Or maybe she was.
She came to create the buzz, and stayed with the subconscious plead of wanting to go home.
Something she once thought was apart of her staple, was now starting to bore her.
It was terrifying, for Hayley was afraid of change.
And more specifically, afraid of herself changing.
Suddenly snapping her out of her thoughts was a wide eyed Maddy - her best friend, gripping at both sides of her shoulders and shaking them furiously.
Hayley focused and could definitely see the brunettes mouth crazily moving out of what seemed to be excitement or anticipation, but couldn't make out a singular word.
Maddy let out a strained breath of aggravation and quickly let go of Hayley's shoulders only to pull at her hand and start dragging her through the sea of half naked teenagers.
The three other girls quickly followed behind, looking to be in the-know of what Maddy was restless about.
After what felt like an eternity of shouting quick "hi"s to every teenager that had noticed Hayley, the crowd of kids started to lessen.
Now out of the 'shark zone' of the party, Maddy had finally let go of Hayley's hand.
