"Yeah, I know to skate Maru. Been doing it for a long time I just... haven't learned any tricks or nun. Been learning how to skate backward for years." The girl said lacing up her black skates

"Years? It's not that hard n/n.." Shikamaru said teasing her.

"Well I don't go to the rink that often or practice sooo if you tryna clown me you can go somewhere with that, baby" Y/n said sassily. "How'd you learn how to skate as good as you claim anyway?"

Shikamaru rolled his eyes at her sassy remarks. "Some friends from high school. We'd go almost every Saturday during the summer" the boy said Skating backwards so he could still face Y/n.

"Okay, show off." The girl said warming up her legs and getting used to the motion.

"If you want me to teach you can just say that, ma" Shikamaru with a smirk.

"If I fall I swear imma beat you up, Shikamaru."

"Beat who up?? I'm not gon let you fall, imma be right behind you"

The couple rolls smoothly on the hardwood floor. Getting used to the familiar feel of their wheels gliding against the wood. Shikamaru  rolls and sways to the beat of the music, adding a couple of small tricks and turns In the mix causing the girl to roll her eyes

"You so extra." she said following him from behind.
"Are you gonna teach me or just show off?" She said skating closer to him

"I don't know. you might be a visual learner" Shikamaru said taking glances behind him to make sure he wouldn't bump into anyone.

"Don't piss me off Maru. I know the concept of skating backward. Just don't know how to do it smoothly I guess.."

"Turn around"

She gives him a somewhat worried look. "I can try.."

She smoothly turns around, her body jerking in an attempt to keep herself from falling but Shikamaru held her waist to keep her body stable. The girl sighs causing the boy to chuckle.

You can't do a simple turn? I thought you said you knew how to skate?" Shikamaru said raising an eyebrow

"I Do! I can roll and glide and all that...just don't know any tricks for real. Stop being mean!"

Laughing a bit he responded. "Okay, love. Let me teach this real quick"

Shikamaru closed the space between the two of them. His arm circled around her waist and the other on her leg

"Shikamaru." The girl said in a warning tone.

"Just move to my flow. It's really the same as going forward, just with a bit more control" the boy said completely ignoring the tone in the girl's voice.

The two skated along the floor slowly and smoothly. aside from the few times she stumbled a bit but Shikamaru never let her hit the ground.

" I got you N/n. Just relax—You're so tense." He said taking one hand and pushing her shoulders down.

"It's scaryyy!"

"What's there to be scared about when I'm right here, hm? The worst thing that can happen is that we fall and you can't skate without falling a couple of times, you know"

"Yeah, I know...You right"

As time went on, the Y/n got the hang of it and the boy slowly drifted away, still rolling close behind.

"Maruuu!!" the girl whined as she felt the warmth of Shikamaru's body leaving her back.

"You got it, ma. Just do what you were doing. Don't sike yourself out—I'm not gonna let you fall." He reassured.

The girl took in his words and just continued to do what she was doing. "Ayeeee okay wait a minute now!!" She said in confidence as she rolled backward on the floor.

Shikamaru laughed and rolled to the front of her.

"Ah!-" the girl stumbled in surprise when his sudden figure came in from of her, reaching her arms out for help to prevent herself from falling.

Hey." Shikamaru said grabbing onto the girl. "I got you"

The girl looks at him. Her eyes turned from worried and scared to safe and comforted.

"Thanks."

"Now try it again. Nice and smooth..just like that"
