- CLOSURE -

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

NADIA HADN'T SLEPT, actually slept, in days. Ever since her first night in the arena, she's only gotten about three hours where she was actually at rest. Last night, however, was probably one of the worst nights she's ever experienced.

There was a long list of nights where she found herself restless, shooting awake in a sudden cold sweat, or simply couldn't sleep as her head was crammed with too many apprehensions.

Last night was a different kind of pain and one that moved it up towards the top of the list.

She was already hurting in every possible sense of the word after having watched Finnick die, her parents' lives be threatened and learning that her mother only thought of her as a shield.

After all this, not even allowing her a chance to catch up, she had to shove any semblance of sorrow away to ensure she pleased her client.

Now she was sitting on the floor in her room with her back against the bed frame, only a thin robe to cover her body that wasn't even her own. She felt dirty and used.

The entire Desirables situation alone wasn't as hard as the very first time she was bought by a Capitol citizen. She had never been with someone sexually and had always thought she would be in love before she was. That too didn't work out in her favor.

Unlike when she was sixteen, though, she sat there and stared ahead of her without any emotion on her face. Her first time, she was in tears practically the entire way home. Now she was numb.

She'd like to think she stared blankly ahead in preparation to become her seductress alter-ego because that was easier to swallow than the actual truth. She was really void of emotion because she was too tired of having her heart hurt so badly.

Drained and exhausted from how much she's already poured into her mother's indifference towards her, her friends being kept here and tortured, and Finnick. Oh, how it hurt to think about him.

She didn't want to, so she decided to push it away in the only way she knew how. Now she was just... paralyzed.

She'd been sitting in the same spot for hours, having nothing better to do besides wait until someone else wanted to buy her. Which usually didn't take that long.

They were practically at war right now, but there were still some horny bastards who couldn't wait to loosen their belts for her.

And just like that, she wanted to vomit again.

When the door creaked open and footsteps slowly walked in, she didn't lift her gaze, knowing it must be Julia to demand she be ready for another person who could, 'afford to pay a pretty penny'.

Her eyes shifted what must've been a microscopic amount as who she thought was Julia had taken their place standing in front of her.

Nadia closed her eyes, shook her head and let it fall back against the neatly made bed she hadn't even tried to sleep in.

"How many tonight?" She asked, her voice hoarse.

When she didn't receive an answer, it only made her irritated. She walks in here, demanding the world and now she was going to scold her for being rude.

"Don't beat around the fucking bush. Just tell me—" Nadia raised her voice with probably the most passion she'd displayed over the course of the last few days, but when she opened her eyes, Clem was standing there looking like an angel in contrast to the devil she was expecting.
