Chapter four

"Erin I need you and Daryl to go get some formula for Judith" Rick told me at breakfast. I knew this was a test to see if I could be trusted or not and, I hadn´t talked to Daryl in a week so this would be good.

"Okay but, I need a gun Rick." Rick and I were getting along even worse. All the cursing had stopped but, I still could not forgive. Rick handed me my old gun. I couldn´t control the big smile that I made.

"I took it and it´s not mine to keep." he said with a smile.

I finished what was left of my scrambled eggs and headed outside. Daryl was already waiting for me.

"Morning sunshine" he said.

"Really driving me crazy." Daryl just smirked. I got on the motorcycle and Daryl turned the engine on. It wasn´t a long ride. In about twenty minutes we arrived at a supermarket. 

"Walker" Daryl announced. I took out my hatchet which Rick had  also given me and buried it into the walker´s skull.

Daryl took care of another two walkers near the entrance and we went into the supermarket. The baby section was besides the "women section", as Paul called it, so I took some things I needed including tampons, chopstick and some pills to kill the pain caused by my period. When Daryl saw what I was taking he just stared at me.

"What for God´s sake? You don´t have to deal with this shit once a month." I said raising the pack of tampons.

Daryl just laughed. Damn was he getting annoying!

Daryl´s P.O.V.

As we were heading back to the motorcycle I couldn´t keep myself from looking at Erin´s butt. I was crazy about this girl but she was too young; I didn´t want to take advantage of her.

I would be lying if I said I didn´t like her having a crush on me. Sometimes I even feel like she´s begging me for sex. Ever since I was a kid girls would fight over me but, I really never cared about all the girlfriends I had. I would sometimes say shitty, corny things like "you are my everything" but I never meant them. This is the first time I don´t want to be in a relationship with a girl because of her body; I like Erin because she is different. That sounded cliché, ugh?

 Moans were heard in the distance.

"Shit" she said as she took out her gun.

Walkers appeared from the woods and I took care of the first three. Erin quickly took out the safety and shot six right between the eyes. Not bad for a chick. We finished the rest of the walkers in less than a minute. I had to admit we make a good team.

"Not bad Daryl" she chuckled and, as for me, I smirked.

"Getting cocky ugh?" You could see that she was flirting with me.

She began walking to my bike when a walker came out of no where and attacked her. She wasn´t even done saying my name when I took the asshole off her and stabbed him in the skull several times. It wasn´t until I finished that I realized who it was.

"No.." Tears were accumulating in my eyes. The asshole that attacked Erin was Merle, my older brother.

"Daryl? You knew him?" I didn´t let her get near me.

I through my self to the floor and let the tears flow. Merle had been a shitty brother and a real asshole but I loved him.

Erin´s P.O.V.

I had no idea what to do. Daryl was on the floor crying and it made me feel terrible. I got closer and sat besides him. I stroke his hair gently. He looked at me like waiting for me to say something. I knew this would make him feel worse but it was the true.

"Pain doesn´t go away... you just make room or it." Since I was on my period I was feeling all sentimental and I started crying as I remembered my brother´s face. Daryl had calmed down and when he saw I was crying he hugged me, just the way Glenn had done.

We stayed on the hot cement floor of the parking lot, hugging each other and crying. Sunset was near and we decided to head back but not before Daryl got something else from the store.

Carol opened the gate for us and said something to Daryl in the ear. When we went inside we found Rick pissed at us.

"Do you have any idea how long you took? Glenn was about to go looking for you two!" Since Daryl didn´t say anything I did.

"A herd came out of the woods when we were leaving. After we took care of it, a walker attacked me and it turned out to be Daryl´s brother, Merle. Anyways, he... Daryl needed time to recover I guess." Rick felt bad for yelling at us and said, "I´m sorry Daryl."

After dinner, Daryl came up to me and asked if I wanted to sleep with him tonight. I nodded and went to get my stuff.

Since his room had only one mattress we had to sleep together. That night we didn´t talk much but once he was asleep he started talking. I think he dreaming about me because he said something about being sorry for calling someone a bitch and that... he wanted me.

The next morning I woke up with Daryl on top of me and I think he was trying to cuddle me. I carefully got out of bed and changed in my room. As I was putting my shirt on Daryl appeared.

"Shit, um.. sorry." he said turning all red and closing his eyes. I told him to open them when I was done.

"Do you want to sleep with me like, every day?" he said shyly after some time. I instantly said "yeah" and he left the room.

I went back to Daryl´s room to look for my chopstick when I found a very interesting thing in his stuff: a pack of condoms.

"So that is what you went to get, ugh?" I said out loud.
