Though this be Madness
yet there is Method in it .
~William shakespeare

Azrael Kendra was trying to reason hard by thinking about this quote. Standing there in the throne hall with his dark hair slicked back due to wind his dublet was so blue irlt was almost black his shoes polished and gleaming and his blue eyes straight ahead as he looked at he looked at his so called father thinking hard .But he still couldn't understand any reason behind his father's wish that is madness. Shakespeare said there's Method in madness but he was seeing PURE MADNESS in his father's words .NO REASON , NO METHOD,WHATSOEVER.
He knew his father and his schemes but now he thought now he MUST be losing his mind for why else would he ask him to marry a girl. He didn't need him to marry a princessto establish good relations with the empire , no he had an army which he commanded for that .He expected many things from his father but never thought he would be much interested in his life but turns out he is after all  he is also nothing but an investment and victory for his father  .
BUT a girl he doesn't know , A girl NOONE knows about. A girl he has never seen his life . A girl no one has ever seen . A girl whose name he has only heard in the darkest corners of the country . A girl who is a  notorious ASSASSIN.
This is some kind of game his father is playing , he knows well.  Even knows how to play them back but somehow he never thought he would turn his son's life into a game too . He didn't know why he expected any better from him. Maybe it was just instinctual to think that he might care for his son more but alas.
"So,what do you think ?", the king asks jarring him out of his thoughts . Azrael Kendra keeps a straight face as though they were talking about dinner and not his life being served as dinner to some awful assassin. He has trained well, too well to know that this illusion of choice doesn't mean anything. That it was never his choice and that this was his father's final judgment and no appeal will work .
He needed to tread carefully, he couldnt have him suspecting . He couldn't let him know even if he had to sacrifice this illusion of freedom and life .
So he says ,
"Your Majesty, may I ask why you want to bring an outsider much less an assassin as a princess in your court ."
"Ahh! Just a favour I owed to an old friend", the king sighs .

A favour! He knew better than that but still  the fact that a father could ruin his son's life for a favour was a bit unsettling for him . But he didn't say anything else because it didn't even matter who he married he had never even thought about it , it's not as though he believed in ridiculousness such as love . There are  important things to do which require his attention and not the kings slightest knowledge. So there's no need for him to have the kings wrath upon himself for as trivial matter as marriage. Yet there was a small voice in the back of his mind that kept telling him , mocking him, reminding him that he had control , he needed control , he thrived on control and yet he couldn't keep control of his own life . But Azrael willfully ignored that voice, didn't want to hear the voice , didn't want to hear his own voice as he submitted himself to his father so he just kept quiet .
"Well I'll take that as yes . Go prepare for your wedding"

NO ! NO ! THE WORD ECHOED IN HIS MIND AND YET HE DIDN'T SAY A WORD AS HE BOWED HIS HEAD AND WENT OUT CLOSING THE DOOR TO THE THRONE ROOM NOT KNOWING THAT HE MIGHT REALLY LOSE CONTROL, TRYING TO HOLD IT .
