MAXIMOFF
"Peter?" I drove fast to the café he's working at while calling him. "Goddamn it! Answer!"
All my phone flashed was a 'Call Failed' sign and I mentally curse as I speed ahead of the traffic that's making my head explode in annoyance. Why do people gotta drive so slow when you're in a hurry?
I immediately parked in front of the café and opened the door. The bell ringing alerted the workers which one happened to be Ned.
"Where's Peter?" I asked in a hurry.
"He just left." He looked a little surprised. "Why?"
"What?!"
"Yeah, his shift was done." Ned said, wiping the counter. "Uh, again... why are you looking for him? Is it another mission? Like a superhero mission? Can I come?"
"What? No, it's dangerous!" I say.
"Please? I can help, I promise!" He even raised a hand next to his shoulder.
"Fine, but if something happens to you, I'm not responsible!" I point a finger at him.
"Okay, that's a little rough but sure..." He shrugged. "Oh wait, I gotta wait for 20 more minutes before my shift is done."
"20? Ugh, fine." I groaned and sat on one of the stools. "Get me a coffee at least." I rest my elbows on the counter, my cheek pressed against one of my palms.
"Hey, are you gonna give me a tip?" He grins and wiggled his invisible eyebrows.
"Will a hundred un-boost your confidence a little?"
"Unboost? Too informal for a genius like you." He chuckled. "But yeah."
I waited for Ned's 20 minutes before his shift ends and I was obviously getting annoyed since something could've already been happening or happened to Wanda and I can't reach out on Peter. God knows wherever he is, he better be safe. From me, because I'll rip his head off for not answering my calls.
