Trying to catch her breathe she stopped infront of her room, once she calmed down, she entered inside, closing the door behind and covered her mouth to suppress the uncontrollable smile.

"I want to get to know you, if you're fine with it"

His words echoed in her mind as heaving a sigh, she walked over to her bed.

"Ofcourse Mr hoodie guy- oh shoot!! I forget to ask his name"

Kicking rocks with her foot, Amara stepped out from her school gate with the test results, staring at the marks she have gotten in her test which was less than her parent's expectations.

She wasn't afraid to face them, she was just tired, tired of everything. The difference between how her parents treats her and how they treats her brother, breaks her heart everytime she thinks of it.

Every single second she wishes to run away from her house, somewhere so far away.

Quietly, she made her way inside after unlocking the door, the silence was relieving as she successfully made it to her room without getting caught.

Since she knew, she could do nothing about her results and she also can't hide from her parents for that long, she just decided to let everything be and went to freshen up.

Hours passed and she was still inside her room but that was when she heard a knock.

Glancing at her study table, where she had kept the test results, she slowly made her way over to the door and opened it to find her brother.

"Dad is calling you in his room with your test results" She nodded slowly followed by a sigh, watching him walking away from there.

She was moving slowly like a turtle while grabbing her test results and walking out from her room.

Her heartbeat was so fast that it felt like her heart will drop out of her chest anytime soon as she made her way over to her dad's room, knocking softly then twisting the doorknob after hearing an answer from inside.

Slowly opening the door she entered inside, glancing at her dad who were working on his laptop. Walking over to him, she just stood there quietly, being too nervous and not having the courage to say anything.

She came to her senses when he hummed, extending his hand out for the test result. Handing him the results, she sensed her anxiety taking over her as she tried to breathe properly and waited for whatever that was about to come.

After a good minute of looking at the results, she heard her dad sighing deeply then closing his laptop and placing it aside.

2 hard slaps and her face turned to the side completely, her right cheek was burning as tears streamed down from her eyes immediately.

"59 out of 100 in maths!! Are you not ashamed?" His voice ringed in her ears as she lifted her head with tear filled face.

"Atleast I still did well, and in other subjects too" She didn't know what was his problem as he slapped her again but this time she received numerous, that she almost got out of the room with him right after her.

"How much is that compare to your brother?" He asked grabbing a stick from nearby which didn't bother her at all since that wasn't anything new for her.

Hearing the noises, her mom and brother rushed to the living room to see what was happening. "This kid-" He muttered through gritted teeth, hitting her several times with the stick before completing the sentence.

"Has no shame at all" The stick broke into half as her mom came to stop him before he'd hit her with something else again.

Complain was all she was hearing right now, as well as she has been hearing from years. They never praised her for atleast trying her best but always criticized her for not matching with their expectations.

Her mom tried to calm him down and managed to take him back in his room, whilst her brother left from there, being used to these all.

Glancing at the clock she wiped her tears and ran outside, she hissed in pain when her t-shirt stick to her skin because of the air, which was burning from getting hit.

She ran straight to the place where she was supposed to be at this time, only to find it empty.

She looked around the empty bridge everywhere but there was no sign of him so she decided to wait for him, she believes that if he had said then he will surely come.

She stood at the edge of the bridge like always, staring down at the river, and not so long after she heard footsteps from behind, assuming that it must be him.

"I might sound crazy... But-" She uttered, wiping her tears once the footsteps stopped behind her.

"I don't want to stay here, can I run away with you?"
