The next day London and I went to try out for cheerleading. Back at my old school I was cheer captain; and I was kinda hoping to achieve the same thing here. I got changed and walked into the gym where all the girls were. We did a little warm-up, then an upbeat music started to play.

I did a little routine and ended in a split. "Wow! I've never seen someone so alive. You did all of that and you're not out of breath?" The captain asked. "I'm impressed." She continued down the line and started giving some girls praises while the others got the "ways to improve" talk.

At the end of it all most of us were accepted, a small few like myself were flyers, another were base or spotters. On my way home I dropped London off and stopped at the diner to get a burger. As I walked in, I spotted Waylon and behind him was a looming dark shadow.

For the fellow witches like myself, shadowy figures don't usually mean anything good and in most cases it meant death. Waylon gave me a smile and waved. "Hello Kim, so how you liking Forks?" He asked taking a sip from his beer.

"So far, so good." I responded with a sad smile. "Well I best be going, good night." He nodded and left, the shadow still following him. I waved and muttered a good night. I wish I could help him but I couldn't interfere.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life, a soul for a soul. If I was to save him, that shadow of death would need someone else....another life.

I received a message from Rosalie this morning stating that they would not be attending school today, which struck me as unusual. However, I assumed they were simply unwell.

Following my regular routine, I got ready, gave London a lift, and proceeded to school. The day passed swiftly, and I didn't receive any homework so I decided on paying a visit to the Cullens.

I parked my car and approached the door, where I was greeted by a stunning brunette woman who appeared to be in her middle age. I figured she was their mother and smiled.

"Good evening, Mrs. Cullen. I'm--" I started to introduce myself. However, she interrupted me with a warm smile and invited me inside. "-Kimberly, the children talk about you a lot, especially Jasper. Do come inside."

As I entered, I threw my jacket on the arm of a chair. The interior of the house was really magnificent, and I couldn't help but express my admiration for the abundance of natural light that illuminated the space.

She guided me to the living room where Emmett and Edward were engaged in playing video games. I teased them, saying, "I thought you guys weren't feeling well." I sat between them and they acknowledged my presence with a brief glance, saying, "Oh hey Kim."

They carried on playing, and Edward expressed his frustration by pressing the buttons on the controller forcefully before throwing it aside, exclaiming, "This game is so fucking stupid."

"Just because you can't do something doesn't mean that it's stupid." I resisted the urge to use my powers to get the fallen controller and instead walked over to pick it up. "Watch and learn."

With that, Emmett and I started the game, fully absorbed in our competition. As the minutes ticked by, we both continued to exhibit a composed and skillful gameplay, but in the end I came out as the victor.

"She wasn't even trying! How did she manage that?" Edward, clearly astonished by my seemingly effortless accomplishment, exclaimed in admiration while rising from his seat.

Displaying a hint of sarcasm, Emmett playfully bowed, extending the controller towards me, "You've earned my respect oh great and mighty one."

"It's really easy to do, all you need to do is concentrate-" before I could complete my sentence, I felt someone embrace me tightly from behind. I swiftly turned around and found Alice standing before me. A joyful expression adorned my face as I greeted her.
