“What do you mean missing? I was with him less than twenty minutes ago,” I questioned.

“Well, tonight’s the night before the full moon and we’re really weak right before and right after, so we always stay together and he’s not here,” Louis explained.

“Okay, maybe he just went out for a little while,” I tried to reason.

“He would’ve told one of us.”

“Well, what are we going to do?” I asked. No one said anything, so I answered my own question. “We should go out and look for him.”

“But it wouldn’t be safe for you,” Niall argued.

“It’s not safe for Harry either! I’m going to go look for him. If you guys look too, then it will take less time and well be in less danger.” They paused for a moment, probably realizing I was right.

“Fine, but we each need our phones and we’ll meet back here in an hour,” Louis ordered. We all agreed and I walked to the door.

“Alright. Meet here in an hour.” I confirmed. We all walked out the door and headed in different directions. I went into the forest and called out Harry’s name.

“Harry? Are you there?” I got no response and continued to walk into the forest. I looked at my phone and saw that fifteen minutes had passed.

“Harry? Please just tell me where you are!” I shouted. I knew he wasn’t going to hear me or reply but I was just yelling in desperation. I continued to walk and found a clearing. I looked around at the bare ground surrounded by trees and sat down next to one. I heard some trees rustling and looked up. I saw a shirtless Harry running past me. “Harry?”

He stopped and turned around, searching for who was talking before he saw me. His eyes were rimmed with red and his hair was damp with sweat.

“What are you doing here Marley?” His chest was rising and falling so I assumed he had been running for a while.

“I came looking for you. Louis told me that you guys are weak today and we all went to look for you. Have you been crying?” I stood up and walked towards him, breathing in the musky scent of the forest.

“No.” He turned his face away from me slightly and looked down at the ground.

“What happened?” I reached out to touch him, but he pulled away.

“Nothing. It’s just—nothing.”

“Fine. Let’s go back to the house.” I walked past him, brushing my shoulder against his arm.

“Marley, wait!” He grabbed my arm and pulled me back to face him. One hand held my bicep and the other brushed hair out of my face. My skin was burning where he touched me and my heart was beating so hard, I was sure he could hear it. “Marley, I really like you.” His other hand trailed up my arm to cup my head and he stared at me for a moment.

I brought my hands up and rested them on his wrists and looked up at his green eyes that were bloodshot from crying. “Harry, I—”

He smashed his lips down onto mine before I could finish what I was saying. Everything else melted away and all I could think about was the person kissing me. I have been kissed before, but not like this. This kiss held raw passion, whereas the others were just dumb games like spin the bottle or when a guy was trying to impress me or his friends. I never felt anything when I kissed them, but I could feel a spark traveling from my lips down to my toes. Even Aaron hadn’t kissed me like this before.

I pulled away as soon as I remembered Aaron. “Harry, I can’t. I have a boyfriend.” I ran past him not giving him a chance to say anything else. I ran into the house and didn’t see anyone else, which I was thankful for, and ran up to my room. I flopped down on my bed, burying my head in my pillow. I let a scream of frustration out, muffling it in the pillow.
