Miranda's pov

We go to IHOP and he sits across from me in a booth. "I know this more of a brunch place but..." He says, his voice trailing off. "I don't care. I'm just glad it does Pepsi." I say, looking through the menu. He looks at me a second longer then stares at the menu. We talk and laugh and just have a good time. Then his phone buzzes. It's my step dad telling him the bus is fixed. We get home, my dad is drying his hands off. Jason looks at me a second before getting on his bus. I wave and they leave.

Jason's pov

Rich is driving us since Tom our regular driver is exhausted. I stare at my phone wanting to call her but hesitating. Kurt peers over my shoulder. I hide my phone but not before he sees the contact name. Mystery bar girl. "You met a bar girl?!" He gasps surprised. I nod. "But she ain't just an ordinary bar girl. There's something different about her. And she didn't even treat me like a famous person. At first I thought she didn't know I was famous but when I got in her truck, she had all of our records." Tully smiles from the couch. "Now that's a girl ya wanna hold onto." He says. I nod confidently and look at Rich. "Turn around man, I'm going back to get her." I say. He nods and we head back.

I get off work and get home. Jason is sitting on my front step! "Whoa! What are you doing here and how long have you been here?" I gape, dropping my keys. He picks them up and hands them to me. "I was at the Georgia state line but something kept pulling me back. That something was you. If you don't mind giving an old cowboy a chance, I'd love to make you my girlfriend." He says. I don't know what to say. "You went hours out of your schedule for a girl you met for a day!" I gasp. "I don't mind." He says, smiling. "You wasted your time." I say.

What?! "You wasted your time coming here. I don't date. I've been hurt too many times. Hurt, controlled, lied to, cheated on. I swore off dating and boys altogether!" She cries, clinging to her arms with tears coursing down her cheeks. I never expected that. She looks so confident and strong. "I'm not going to do that! Not every guy is an asshole! Just like not every girl at a bar is just an ordinary bar girl." I say, smiling. I rest my hand on her cheek. She flinches. Someone wasn't so nice. "If you can be my tanlegged Juliet, I'll be your redneck romeo." She backs up. "It's not you... I can't ... I'm sorry." She cries, running passed me inside.

I lean against the door. I can't say yes. Boys are all the same. They're nice and all until ya don't do something they want but I'm small. He could easily overpower me. "Damn, well like I said I'm not gonna control ya. But it sucks we couldn't even try." He says, sadly. His boots clicking on the ground as he walks away. Maybe he isn't like other guys. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm going to give it a chance.

Jason's pov

"She doesn't like dating, doesn't even want to give it a chance." I mumble super bummed. Kurt stares out the window. "It doesn't look that way to me." He says. I look out and she opens her door. I open the bus door. "Changed your mind?" I ask. She nods. "I'm sorry about earlier. I've just been through so much crap that I gave up on love. I was in the bar that day, drowning my sorrows in fact. That's when I gave up on dating." I stop her from talking with a kiss. When I pull away, she's too stunned to speak. "If you'll give this old cowboy a chance I can show you love still exists. You just have to know where to look." I whisper, putting my hand on her cheek again. I wipe away a tear as she bites her lip. I smile. "Thanks for giving me a chance. You'll soon come to find out, I'm not like those other boys." I say. She smiles. "And I'm not like ordinary bar girls." She says. I chuckle. "Nope you're a mystery." I whisper, kissing her again.
