Bedroom Fluff

My earbuds buzz with the sound of my alarm, pulling me out of my slumber. I move to shut it off, but feel two arms wrapped around me. I look over, using my headphones to stop the alarm. My green-haired partner in crime lays with me, spooning me gently as he sleeps. I smile at him, debating whether or not to wake him. I pull my earbuds out and let them click together as they fall. In the meantime, I'll enjoy his comforting presence.

He says his nightmares are less frequent when he doesn't sleep alone, so we share a room now. I slowly turn to face him, and pull him into me. I squeeze him gently, hoping not to wake him. The morning sun bleeds through the window, shining across the bed and lighting up the room.

Slowly, my live-in lover begins to wake. He untangles his arms from me as I do the same, and sits up. I lay back on my side, supporting my head with my hand. He rubs his brown eyes and I say "Morning, sunshine." He looks over at me groggily and smiles playfully. He pouts, sarcastically saying "You know I don't like that nickname." I laugh quietly. "What else should I call you? Mi amor? Doll? Sweetheart? Darling?" I list off other terms of endearment, being sure to draw out the last one, whispering it in his ear.

He blushes, pulling away. "No! I..." he stutters. "You what?" I ask, falling back onto the pillow. "I... You can call me...," he struggles to think of a better title, looking back. "It's alright, take your time," I say. "I think I'll stick with sunshine though, it fits you better," I respond after pretending to think about it. "How?" he demands. "It's cute..." I trail off, leaning up to him. "Just like you," I finish, planting a soft kiss on his cheek before he can respond. "Ugh!" He pretends to be disgusted, wiping his cheek with his sleeve. I chuckle, before I get up to go make breakfast for the both of us.
