The night was going pretty normal. Webby was having a sleepover with Lena and Violet, which was pretty normal at this point, Huey was organizing his many, many schedules, and Dewey was trying to learn how to skateboard. Louie, however, was conflicted. It was a perfectly normal night, they hadn't even gone on an adventure today! So what was wrong? Louie thought for a while. Staring at his phone. He didn't even know how long he'd been laying like that, staring at his phone and overthinking every little thing he did that day. Why did everything feel so...off?
"Louie! Hello, are you alive?" A familiar voice shouted, prying Louie from his thoughts. He looked to see the source of the call. His brother, Huey, was standing next to his bed, a concerned look stuck to his face.
"Yeah?" Louie asked. He didn't know what reply he wanted, but it wasn't the one he got, "You okay?" As soon as the words had left Huey's beak, Louie started to think of an excuse.
We could tell him you were listening to the rain!
No, that's stupid!
Well, what do you suggest?
We could tell him we're hungry.
That's stupider! Dinner will be ready in, what, five minutes?
Better than your idea!
Louie was listening to the two voices squander, but he got annoyed rather quickly. Realising Huey was still standing there, Louie came up with his own excuse.
"Yeah, I'm just a little tired, why?" Louie knew his response was simple, but it worked. Huey seemed convinced, and the voices had stopped arguing. Louie sighed.
"Oh, okay. D-dinner's almost ready, and Scrooge wants everyone downstairs for some reason." Huey replied. Louie looked at him for a second, to his surprise, Huey still seemed a bit worried. Unfortunately, before Louie could ask what was up, Huey walked out. Louie shook it off and stood up. He looked around the room.
Where is my hoodie? He wondered
You're wearing it dumbass. He heard one voice say.
No need to be mean, Evo. (Ee-voe) Another exclaimed.
Can both of you, please, be quiet? Louie thought, knowing that was an unrealistic ask. And unsurprisingly, the voices continued to argue. Louie lifted his pillow, looking for his phone. He searched through the pile of objects. Bandages, lock-pick, hair tie, mask, phone. Phone! Louie snatched his phone and ran downstairs.
As soon as he was downstairs he could hear voices.
Mrs. Beakley, Uncle Scrooge, Mom, and-
Mom!? He heard Evo exclaim.
That bitch is not your "mom" Evo hissed. Louie heard Loyal, the other voice, attempting to argue with Evo, however Evo wasn't wrong. Della wasn't really Louie's mom. Not emotionally, anyway. She hadn't been there to raise him, and so Louie continued to consider Donald his parent, like he always had. Maybe she never would be his mom, but he would get in trouble if he called her Della. Louie decided to listen to what they were saying. He walked over to the dining room and sat down in his usual seat. He struggled to hear over the rest of his family and Loyal and Evo's arguing, but made do regardless.
"Are you sure about this? I don't know if we should do this in front of everyone?" Said Uncle Donald.
"I know, but if ees' workin' with the snake we need da confront em'." His Uncle Scrooge argued, accent thick and even harder to understand through the noise.
"And if he's not, it'll be incredibly awkward and he'll be upset that you suspected him of something like this." Responded Mrs.Beakley. Louie didn't really know what was going on, but if Mrs.Beakley and Uncle Donald were against the idea, it was definitely a horrible idea.
"I don't think he'll be too upset. He'll forgive us and things will go back to normal!" Della argued. Louie sighed. They were going to make some big accusation and ruin dinner. Louie decided not to focus on that and instead tell Evo and Loyal to shut up. What were they even arguing about anymore? Didn't matter.
Will you two shut it?
Of course not! This idiot called me a fool!
He wasn't wrong, asshole.
Pff- Told you!
You're a fool too, Loyal.
What!
I hate both of you.
Well at least they weren't arguing anymore. Of course, it was never that easy.
"Shadow!"

FanfictionProbably gonna be some angst in here. Listen I'm not the best writer ever so you'll have to excuse some of my bad grammar. All the characters belong to Disney, don't yell at me. And the cover art isn't mine either.
