Dewey's POV
"Louie!" Huey exclaimed, running over to them. He smiled, hugging his brother. Louie smiled too, happily hugging back. I got up and walked over to the rest of the group, who were just now walking in. Webby and Lena lagging behind a bit.
"So," Violet inquired, "His memories?" She asked again, Webby and Lena walking over now. I noticed Lena avoiding eye contact, even with Webby. I'll ask about it later.
"He's fine, didn't hurt Della or anything like that. His memories are pretty much good to go!" I announce, trying to let the good news out first. The room lets out a collective sigh of relief. Violet cracks a smile, and Webby is basically jumping up and down.
Lena seems to remain weary, ""Pretty much...?"" They all freeze. Hope drains from the room, celebrations are over. I have no idea what to say. This is all a lot harder than I'd thought it'd be.
"Well," I begin, "he doesn't have any memories of Mom." Webby flinches. Lena looks down to the floor again, I can tell she's blaming herself. Violet merely raises an eyebrow. Huey walks up to the group, smiling. A light in darkness. Except if they told him, that light was sure to go out.
"What's up?" Huey asks, his smiling turning from joyful to reassuring.
"Nothing, I was just telling them about how Louie still has all his memories!" Just then, Louie runs over, smiling happier than I've seen in months. He has to have lost more memories than just Mom! Why would his personality change so much from just forgetting about Mom? It didn't make sense! Louie was acting the way he used to act when they were little. Like, little little. I glance over at Lena, trying to remember the other side-effects. I was so worried about the memory loss I forgot about the other ones...
Huey speaks again, "Okay, well Louie's hungry so I'm going to go back to the kitchen with him; make sure he doesn't scare anyone this time!" a pleasant interruption in the prolonged silence. He walks away, giving us a concerned glance before he leaves. Lena sighs.
"Why did you lie to him?" Violet asks, "Surely he deserves to know more than we do." Lena looks up again, but just barely.
"Because, I don't know how I'm going to tell him!" I exclaim, the thought just sort of bursts out. "He and Louie are really close, and it's our Mom, how do I explain something like that to him!"
"With words." Lena says, sarcastically. I'd be upset about that, but she's clearly blaming herself so I'll let it slide. Also it was kinda funny.
Violet glares at her. Webby shrinks in between them, knowing she'll be stuck in the middle of the argument that will inevitably break out between these two. For now though, Lena avoids eye contact and instead sighs.
I copy that idea, and lay down on the floor. Staring up at the ceiling.
How the hell am I going to tell Huey? My last thought before, I fall asleep.

FanfictionProbably gonna be some angst in here. Listen I'm not the best writer ever so you'll have to excuse some of my bad grammar. All the characters belong to Disney, don't yell at me. And the cover art isn't mine either.
