Peter sat on top of his apartment building, staring out into the abyss. He swung his legs back and forth underneath him as he hummed a song. A song that the girl he had offered to help find a part for her TV was humming. He found it quite catchy and noticed he was singing it at random times. He smiled absent mindedly as he recalled her small smile when he found the part for her. Her smile was enough to make him forget about his and MJ's breakup. It didn't though.

Their breakup was really bad and forgetting it would take a lot of time.

And Spider-Man.

"Spider-Man can fix anything", Peter said to himself. "Even a really bad heartbreak. Which I am definitely experiencing at the moment." He sighed as he messed with his web shooters. The breakup was inevitable. He just didn't expect it to be so loud. He just thought that after the him and MJ got back together that they would spend the rest of their lives with each other. Just then the news billboard sounded an alert. "Be on the lookout for a, Spider-Duchess. She's been stealing and it seems abducting. Stay safe out there. Though it seems there isn't too much need for concern. She seems to be going after rich individuals. Mainly those who work for Simon Krieger. If you spot this mysterious person contact the police. That's all. Thanks for tuning in." The billboard then went black before displaying an ad for a fancy perfume. Peter frowned as he pulled on his mask. "Spider-Duchess, huh? Sounds more like miss trouble to me. Let's see if... Oh wait. Never mind." MJ was out of the picture. Especially seeing as the breakup was only five days prior and she didn't answer his calls. He sighed again as he web zipped to a nearby building to gain momentum for a solid point launch. "Okay, let's find this, Spider-Duchess."

Peter had been swinging for what felt like hours. Looking for the newly arisen adversary. He hated when a new villain showed up just to wreak havoc and cause their so-called organized chaos. He absolutely hated it. As he began to grumble to himself how much he hated certain aspects of his superhero life, he heard a scream. Bingo. Peter thought. He quickly changed his course of direction towards the scream. He scanned the area from the sky and noticed a woman looking frantically in the air, like she was looking for Spider-Man. He landed next to her and she gasped. "Oh, Spider-Man! I saw the Spider-Duchess sneak into that building just now!" She frantically pointed to a really large building in front of them. Peter nodded, thanked the lady, and swung towards the building.

As he landed on the side of the building he frowned as his lenses picked up evidence of the factory's security system offline. "Why today miss Spider?" He said to himself. He crawled into the vent and made his way towards the main control room. "Wow. I'd never thought I'd see the day where someone had cleaner air vents than Willy." He smirked as he dropped down into the control room. He made his way to the unlocked computer and began looking over it. "Tsk tsk. Spider girl forgot to cover up her tracks." He typed in a few product codes and went through the history. Just then his Spider sense went off, warning him of a ominous presence behind him. There was a gun pressed to his head as a voice spoke, "Did she? Or was she just trying to lure you here?" He put up his hands in mock surrender and slowly turned around. His eyes met with blue eyes (if your eyes are blue, change the color.) filled with determination. The lower half of her face was covered with a black face mask and she wore a black and purple spandex suit with a gold spider logo on the front of her, he was guessing, a shock absorption vest. "Well, if it isn't the Spider... Girl, was it? And what's with the mask? Has Devil's Breath resurfaced?" He faked a gasp at the end of his quip. The woman rolled her eyes. "It's Spider-Duchess undies. And no, it's my trademark." She moved past him to the computer.

"So, wearing a face mask... Is your trademark?" He tilted his head to the side as he watched her type. He decided to completely ignore the fact that she had called him 'undies'.

"Sure. Whatever helps you feel better about your Spider-Man underwear. Peter gasped in surprise. "How. Do you know about that?"

"I know a lot of things about you superheros." She pointed a finger at him as she grabbed a hard drive.

"What's Tony Stark's real slash full name then?" Peter smirked under his mask. No one knew Tony Stark's full name.

"Why do you need to know?" Peter shrugged. "I just wanted to test your supposed knowledge."

"You're cute. But, I gotta bounce." She began to climb towards the vent but Peter jumped in front of her. "You really think I would let you go? Not with that hard drive you're not."

"Oh, I know." She did a backflip off the ceiling and kicked him right in the middle of the nose. She landed on the floor just as he groaned when he felt his nose move very far out of place. "Ouch. What do you have? Super strength or something? That actually hurt." He dropped down onto the floor as well.

"Yes. Yes, I do." Spider-Duchess readied herself in a fighting stance.

"Now I know how Hammerhead felt when I kicked his butt." He whispered, setting his nose back into place.

"What? Never been hurt by a woman before?" Her eyes flashed a smirk. Peter felt his eye twitch. That girl was really starting to get on his nerves. "Listen. Miss Duchess. You're really starting to get on my nerves." He told her. She threw a kick his way, just barely missing.

"The feeling is mutual. Undies." She emphasized the nickname that she had given him. "Ugh! I'm not little. Especially not to you." Out of context but he said it anyway. He had a habit of that. He punched at her but she dodged it.

"Uh, yeah. You kinda are." She pulled out a flash grenade and threw it on the ground. Peter's ears rung as he quickly recovered. But it was too late. She was already gone. Peter looked around the entire room and even scanned the vents for heat signatures. She was just gone. "Where'd you go Miss Duchess?" He muttered to himself. He checked the computer one last time before leaving the building through the vents, with no way to know where his mysterious foe had gone or any way to know what she was doing stealing hard drives. Peter screamed internally in rage as he made his way to F.E.A.S.T.

He couldn't help but feel it was his fault that Spider-Duchess had gotten away. If only he hadn't just been talking to her, feeling that she wasn't a threat. He sighed as he landed onto the rooftop of the shelter. It was about that time where he would volunteer in place of his aunt's precious work. It was tough at times. But he found it necessary. And maybe he could clear his head and try to find his newfound enemy. "It's all my fault." He told himself. "Just like everything else..." Was it his fault though? OR was it Spider-Duchess' fault?
