Y/n's POV:
The only reason why I called him to meet me at that specific place was because I needed to know I could trust him. Not that I trusted anyone but my friends. I just needed to know that Spider-Kid was really in this. "Coffee day or something?" I asked him gesturing to the cup of coffee in his hand. Probably a latte, like other teens his age. "No, Starbucks had a sale on Peppermint Mochas, so I went.""Let me guess. Iced coffee." He made a noise of disgust before answering me. "No! Hot. I can't with iced coffee during winter." He rolled up his mask and took a sip. Then he snickered. "What is it?" I asked somewhat annoyed at his randomness. "Nothing it's just. My... Mentor. He's a Coffee Bean loyalist 'till the day he dies." I smirked. Glenn was like that. "I have a friend like that..." I told him. I could see his smile and that made me smile as well.
I opened the box of donuts and gestured for him to sit down next to me. He did so, placing the cup down. "Have a donut kid." He thanked me and took one. "So... You might be wondering why I told you to come here." He nodded, his mouth full of a Maple Bacon donut. "Well, I can't work with someone who isn't transparent." He swallowed.
"So... You're saying you want me to tell you everything about me?"
"What? No. I need to know who you are."
"Oh." I watched as he rolled his mask up a bit father but he didn't take it off all the way. He looked at me, and I knew exactly what he was asking. I sighed. "Yes. I will show you who I am. Go ahead. Remove your mask." I folded my arms and waited. He slowly finished pulling his mask off. I gasped. There was no way. "Miles?!" I asked flabbergasted. "Um. How'd you know?" He sounded slightly panicky. I pulled down my mask and turned off my lenses. "It's me. Y/n." He gasped as well. "Miss Y/n?! But, you're such a nice person."
"And you're such a good kid."
"Wow. This is crazy." I nodded in agreement. Never in a million years would I have expected Miles to be the Spider-Man from Brooklyn.
We both sat there in awkward silence not knowing what to say next. Even the sound of the boy beside me munching on a donut was incredibly quiet. It was beyond awkward. He sighed, I sighed. "So... Why do you wanna join kid?" He sighed again, wiping his gloved hands off. "Well... The other Spider-Man doesn't get it. I do want Krieger to pay. I can only hope that Rykers sentences him to death."
"Pay for what?" I had heard him mention that his father and uncle were dead. And that Simon killed them.
"I saw it. Every last part of it, right in front of my eyes."
Miles' POV:
"I saw it. Every last part of it. Right before my eyes." I felt tears build up in my eyes. Simon didn't deserve just going to prison. And I was pretty sure that Miss Y/n thought the same.*Flashback*
Miles had finished patrolling and was swinging towards Trinity church. The swinging relieving him from the tense day that he had. Music played in his ears, thanks to Gankee upgrading his suit with better AI. He was meeting Phin to talk to her. His phone rang and he answered it. He beamed. "Hey dad."
"Hey Miles. Did you get that grocery list from your mother?" He smiled, hearing his dad's voice. Everytime he heard it, a sense of calmness washed over him knowing that his dad was alright. And that Miles could always go to him for anything.
"Sí papa." Miles responded.
"Miles, you know I don't speak Spanish."
"Well, you should know by now that 'sí' is yes. And you know what 'papa' means." Even though his dad couldn't see him, Miles refrained from rolling his eyes.
