It was 4am when i returned from my night job. I would have approximately 2hours of sleep. Which was the same as every other night or should I say morning. This was the life i would live forever.
I wonder if I'll ever have children or get married like a normal person would.

I jumped out of bed, not because of a bad dream but because i felt a presence in the room. I had felt it for an hour but laid still hoping it would go away but it got too much and after an hour i jumped out of bed. Which i then realised was a huge mistake. It could have been a serial killer and my unawaited action may provoke the attacker to strike.
"I wondered how long you would pretend to be asleep" a voice said from behind me.

I turned to see the girl from the grocery store sitting comfortable on my stool.

"What are you doing here? How did you get in?" I asked looking around to try and figure out how she got in.

"Through the door, like a normal person" she said it as though breaking into my room at 5am were a normal thing.

"Normal people don't stare at people while they sleep"

"Oh I'm sorry, did i make you uncomfortable?"

Saying yes would be embarrassing but saying no would be an obvious lie. "What are you doing here? I don't even know you"

"Oh but I know you. You're Thomson Rudney, 18. No parents, no siblings or close relatives. You've always been spotted close to crime scenes and accidents
I'd say you've had quite an interesting life or you're just some bad luck kid" she said it all to carelessly not even a drop of sympathy.

People would normally give me a pittyful look whenever they found out I was an orphan.

"Okay so you know the basics. What do you want?" I was getting grumpy but she deserved it for taking away the only sleep i got.

"It interests me that you can see shards." She said starring at me but her thoughts were far away.

"Shards??"

What the hell were shards? And could she just explain why she was here and when she was planning on leaving.

I looked at the time.

Only about 30 minutes before i had to start getting ready for work. I had officially not slept at all.

"Look lady, i forgive you for breaking into my house and starring at me at such an unholy hour so you can leave now." I said showing her the way out.

She reached into her leather jacket and that was when I knew I was done for it.
