We pull up to the fraternity and my stomach is churning. I can hear the music blaring, and what I am assuming are a shit ton of college students who are drunk off their asses. The frat house is huge, much to my surprise. Back in Iowa City, the fraternities were more like run down houses than actual buildings. The Kappa Pi house is almost mansion like with its size and white stone pillars. I would actually be impressed if I didn't know what was going on inside.

"Sammi, are you absolutely sure about this?" I ask apprehensively.

"Fin, I've been to tons of parties and nothing bad has ever happened to me. We'll be fine, I promise."

"But have you ever been to a frat party?"

She sighs heavily. "No, but I'm sure the only difference between this party and the ones we had in Canton are the attractive boys, speaking of which are I would really like to dance on... with... before they're all passed out drunk." She grabs my wrist and leads me into the packed house.

Sammi must have forgotten to mention that it was a glow in the dark themed party since everyone but the two of us are decked out in neon and white clothing. Hopefully no one stops me and asks if I'm at the wrong party, judging by my out of place black shirt and jeans.

"Help me find Niall," Sam says and grabs my wrist. I really wish she would stop doing that.

"Okay..." I say hesitantly, "Who's that?"

"He's the one who texted me about this party." I wonder how she met him, but don't bother asking. Sammi seems to know a lot of people even though she's only been here a week, like me. We wander around the house, squeezing through groups of neon cladded students.

"There he is," Sam says with a smile.

We walk over to a group of people sitting on a slumped couch, deteriorating from the years of reckless students doing who knows what to it... or on it. I shiver at the thought.

"Hey, you made it!" a blonde boy sitting on the arm of the couch says. He stands up to greet Sam, red cup in hand. He turns to me. "Hi, I'm Niall," he says with a grin, and reaches his hand out to shake my own. He looks familiar.

"Fin," I reply.

"Do you guys want a drink?" he asks. Before I can say no, Sam nods her head and follows Niall into the crowd of people. The mass of people becomes quite overwhelming and I, feeling a bit lightheaded, saunter into what I assume is the kitchen. It's crowded, but not as packed as the living room. I sit on one of the bar stools at the island. Finally I can breathe. If it weren't for the blaring music and the people drunkenly making out in the corner, I would actually be relaxed.

The kitchen is much more substantial than the frat kitchens I've seen in movies; dark granite countertops, an actual oven rather than just a microwave, an island. I'm impressed. A girl runs in and pukes in the sink. I wince. Three frat boys stumble in from the other room.

"Found it!" one of the guys yells and the three grab cans of beer from the bucket of ice by me, paying me no attention. One of them faces me at the last minute. His hair is dark and short, and his face quite chiseled.

"Actually I think I'm gonna stay here," he says to the others.

"Okay suit yourself, man," the bigger of the two replies, and they return to the madness going on in the other room.
