to jordyn, summer doesn't start until the first sunday of june. not only is it the first sunday that she doesn't have to go to bed early, but it's also the designated day of the sturniolo-wilde barbecue. the same barbecue that has gone on for as long as jordyn can remember.
jordyn sits patiently on a wooden stool with marylou parting her hair behind her. moments like these weren't rare, but it felt that way to both girls. to marylou, jordyn was the daughter that she never had while on the otherhand, marylou was the mother that jordyn never had. the relationship between the two balance out because of that.
while marylou started to french braid half of the young girls hair, jordyn started humming along to the song faintly playing from the radio sitting on the counter. it was something by one direction, a band the triplets always teased her for listening to.
