Evelyn's POV

It was about 7:30pm and Tahlia finishing my hair. "ok now you need a perfect outfit." Tahlia says going over to my closet, she then starts pulling other pieces of clothing out of my drawers and placing them on my bad as well as jewelry and other things. "This is Perfect." She says showing me what she picked

"10 out of 10" I say acknowledging her good work. "Ok you get dressed and then I'll put the ribbon in your hair". she says then walks out the room. I get dressed then walk next door to her room. "Ok sit down." Tahlia says gesturing to the seat in front of her vanity. She takes half of my hair and ties it up with the ribbon. She smiles, "you look absolutely beautiful, don't ever forget that." Tahlia says resting her hands on my shoulders. "Ok it's time to go see your manz." She says lightly shaking me back and forth.

When we get to the beach I immediately regret my decision, unlike Tahlia I'm not a party person. "Ok I'm going to go get a drink if you need anything at all if anyone makes you uncomfortable or anything you text me right away." Tahlia says letting go of my arm which was before linked with hers. "Okay." I say with a forced smile. I look around seeing no familiar faces when I suddenly feel an arm around my shoulder. "I knew you'd show up." Jeremiah says. "I guess I did" I reply. "Come on I'll introduce you to some people. We walk over to a group of people sitting on a blanket, "guys this is Evelyn, Evelyn this is Gigi, Nicole, Shayla,Conrad, and Steven." He says while pointing to each one of them. Conrad was the guy he had called his brother earlier, how did I miss this these were Susannah's boys "Hi" I say. I get a mixed response of "hi" and "nice to meet you" if I wasn't already nervous the girl he introduced as Gigi was burning holes in my skin was it because his arm was still around me? I thought. "Would you like something to drink Ev?" Jeremiah asks using the nickname my sister called me earlier. "No thanks I'm good right now." I reply. "Ok then have a seat hang with us." He says "ok." Ok Ev sit next to who looks the nicest so that eliminates Gigi Shayla looks nice.  I take a seat next to Shayla
"I love your outfit." She says. Right choice ev
"Thanks" i say. "You didn't hear this from me but Jere has been talking about you for hours waiting for you to show up." Shayla whispers. "Had to make him be patient." I whisper back. There's then a presence ton the other side of me, it's Jeremiah who again puts his arm around me and smiles, I smile back. After making small conversation with the group we hear yelling. It's Steven yelling at some girl. "I'll be right back" Jeremiah tells me. Now I'm left with 3 girls 1 who hates me and 1 I haven't spoken to. I get up from my seat "where are you going?" Shayla asks. "Just for a walk, I'll be back though." I reply. "Who's going for a walk?" Jeremiah asks just returning. "Uh me." I say. "Cool I'll go with you." He says. This must have really pissed Gigi off given as she then very angrily said she was going home.

We start walking down the beach in silence "sooo what's with you I wanna get to know you?" He asks "well I guess I could give you a basic rundown. Uh I'm 16 from Somerville and the girl from earlier is my sister who's my best friend in the whole world and i could say I like to read but I wouldn't want to be lame so I'll say that I like sunsets and flowers."  I answer. "What about you?" I ask.  "Well I'm 16 from Boston, my brother is annoying, I like parties and beach days, aaaaand I think that you are pretty." He says. I let out a small laugh "Jeremiah are you flirting with me?" I ask. "Maybe" he says. " well in that case i giess i may find you attractive." i say "do you?" He asks. "I said I may." I say.  "Ok but now I want to know the deep stuff, like your favorite color."  He says. "Oh well now you have stepped over the line." I say, which both made us laugh. "It's blue but like a grey-ish navy blue." I say "I don't know what mine is, I can never decide." He says. "so I wa-" he says but is cut off by a girl "Jere Steven said you wou- wait oh my gosh is the the girl you were talking about earlier? She is pretty- wait omg how rude of me I'm Belly." She says smiling. "Evelyn." I reply. "Ok we so need to hang sometime, actually we're gonna hang right now, sorry here I'm taking her you can have her back in a bit." She says taking my arm. "Promise?" He asks "promise." She replies.

I've been hanging out with Belly for the past hour and let me say something I LOVE this girl we have so much in common it honestly feels like I've known her for years. "Ok you so have to come over tomorrow!" She says. "Sure just put in your number and stuff." I say handing her my phone, she puts in her number and address which is almost identical to mine besides the house numbers. "That's funny, that's the house right next to mine." I say. "no way seriously?" She asks. "Yeah." I say

we spend another long while talking when an annoyed Jeremiah approaches us "can I please have her back now bels?" He asks. "You see I would say no but, I'll just hog her tomorrow." She says getting up from her spot trading with Jeremiah. "What does she mean by that?" He asks confused. "Oh me and her are gonna hang out tomorrow and funny story her house is right next to mine." I say. "Well really funny story but her house is also my house." He says Yet another piece of information that slid my brain from the earlier conversation with my mom

"Sorry Jere but I'm going for belly." I say. "That's fine I'll just steal you from her." He says. "Omg I'm being fought over already." I say making us laugh. "Well there isn't much as a fight given you were technically mine first." He says with a smile. we then stay there making eye contact but not the awkward kind, this kind was new to me, all of a sudden he is leaning in, and so am I and then you'll never guess... we kissed...a few times...actually it's a whole make out now, which was short lived as my sister was now spam calling my phone. I pull away, "I'm sorry it's my sister." I say before answering the phone. "Everything alrigjt Tahl?" I ask "uh yeah but yk curfew and we are already 5 minutes late." She says "oh shit I'll be right there." I say hanging up the phone. "Everything alright?" Jeremiah asks. "Yeah it's just my mom gave us a curfew and I'm already five minutes late so..." I say getting up from my spot in the sand. "I get it, at least let me walk you back." He says also getting up from his seat  taking my hand. Which he then held the whole way back. "I had a really good time." I say facing him. "Me too we should do it again." He says "past curfew beach walk or make out?" I ask jokingly. "Both." He says. " well i better go before i go wayyy past curfew." I say.  "Wait one thing." He says grabbing my hand again, he leans down and gives me a quick kiss on the lips. "I'll see you tomorrow, you know when I steal you from bels." He says. "Whatever you say Jere." I say laughing. "Ok now I really have to go, I'll see you maybe tomorrow." I say running my way over to where Tahlia was standing yelling at me to hurry up while laughing. Me and Tahlia are walking up to where we parked our car. "Ok you are SO telling me everything that happened when we get home!" She says. "Don't worry I will, and this one definitely requires snacks." I say
