A soft orange glow brushed the horizon, the sun was beginning to set for the night. Lukas was leaning against a dirt hill to the side, watching as the last of the survivors stepped into their own temporary homes to wait out the night.

They'd build either "quick and dirty huts" or some treehouses for shelter and gave in the slight additions Lukas suggested sometime before: Doing a multi-level thing for the huts and building into the tree a little bit more for the treehouses.

"Hey, Lukas!" said a familiar voice.

Lukas unfolded his arms in surprise to see Maya and Gill standing in front of their hut, leaving him over. Smiling at them, he stuffed his hands in his pockets and approached them.

"Hey guys." he said.

"You coming with us?" asked Maya.

Lukas' eyes crept over to the treehouse that Jessica and the others camped inside of. Axel actually went along with Olivia, not because it was "functional" and would "keep them out of danger," but because it would keep Jessica out of danger.

The two were thinking of scouting to see if their treehouse had survived the Wither Storm when it first began, after all, it was pretty close to town.

"Uh, actually, I was hoping I could help the others for a while." Lukas finally declined, "Catch up with you later?"

"Man," Maya scoffed, rolling her eyes, "why do you even hang out with those losers?"

Flames immediately roared in Lukas' eyes.

"What did you just say?!" he demanded, "Those guys just saved the entire world!"

"Cut the crap, Lukas." said another voice.

The two snapped their heads towards the face of Aiden. Lukas and Aiden glared at one another with such an intensity that it looked as though one of them could explode at any given moment. Aiden stepped out of the shadows.

"I can't believe that you'd ditch us for that loser, Jessica." he said coldly, "Well, she's less of a loser now that stupid pig of hers is dead. 'Good riddance.' I say. Should have been cooked when I set it up in flames. And that goes for her pathetic brother too, who could've just died in that forest trying to 'save' the little pink loser."

"Take...that...back." Lukas was shaking furiously.

"Make me, oh 'mighty leader.'" Aiden mocked, "You were the one who ditched us."

"I came back for you guys!" Lukas argued back.

He just hated the way his voice had cracked just now. However, it was enough to shut them all up.

"I came back for you guys because I was worried about you." Lukas continued, "Jesse and Jessica even let me go, knowing full well that it was you who I was saving!"

He was panting by now. He was so ready to just pummel Aiden and the others to the ground, not even caring if he wouldn't win or would. However, he just lowered his fists and clenched them at his sides, gritting his teeth. He turned his back on them, and said in the most darkest voice possible:

"I'm starting to wonder why you were even worth the risk in the first place."

And with that, Lukas stormed off.

...

The silence in the dirt hut was heavy, as Axel, Olivia, Jessica and Petra settled down for the night. Petra was dipping her bandana into a bucket of water, scrubbing off all the dirt and grime that had gotten into it over the past few days.
