Shadows Of Affection

As the darker night slowly began to approach, the beautiful hues of stars in the sky could be seen, the group found themselves unwillingly getting out of the lake, wrapping their towels around themselves. The group sit in a circle, as they do this, Lyra caught herself glancing at Dorian when no one was looking, or so she thought. Dorian caught a glimpse of her looking at him. Their eyes lock for a minute, her hold worlds freezes. After a few moments of chatting, and unexpected tension between Dorian and Lyra,  Dorian takes out his guitar, playing it for them all, Lyra cant help but look at the way that his finger caressed the guitar strings, she left as if she transcended the boundaries of friendship. As Dorian began to sing, she noticed the lyrics were quite romantic and apparent to have a deeper meaning.

Lyra's gaze continues. As it lingers for a little longer, she begins to notice her feeling of attraction to him. But of course, as one does, she denies it to herself. Throughout the night, Sophia and Adrian begin to notice Lyra's starring. Dorian, every few long seconds of playing will look up and make eye contact with the girl.

Once Dorian finishes playing, the rest of the group claps. The friends talk about stupid little things and tell stories to each other, when all of a sudden Mia remembers that she's stole her Mums radio. She presses a button and the song "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" plays, they all sing a long to it, having a great time. The group giggles, dances, sings, and tells creepy stories. Adrian was sat in the middle of the circle, telling them all a Horror story that he wrote himself, Lyra was sat between Dorian and Luna, Sophia is setting across from Lyra, she's looking at Lyra and Dorian, with a stupid mischievous grin on her face. "The chemistry in the mix of the mad Sorcerer's mind-"  Adrian says, intensely, occasionally glancing down at his journal.  "Looks like the night is sparking a different kind of chemistry," speaks Sophia giggling, starring directly at Dorian, but he looks quite confused. It looks him a good minute to realise what she meant was the tension between him and Lyra, his eyes widen and he looks concerned. "What? No Sophia." his voice is stern and give her this silly look while squinting his eyes.

Once everyone calms down, they decide to stay for another 30 minutes. In this time, Lyra and Dorian shared a blanket, it wasn't unusual for them to share things since they've known each other since they were 14, but this definitely catches the eyes of the others there. After awhile, they pack up to leave and all say their goodbyes. 

As they all walk to the car, Sophia makes some stupid little remarks about Lyra and Dorian, Lyra goes red in the cheeks a little buts that's all. The ride to Lyra's house was pretty quiet, hardily any talking, which makes sense, they all my be feeling exhausted. For Lyra this was the best thing she's ever done, and she plans to do it again, as long as she doesn't get caught. Dorian pulls up a few houses down from where Lyra lives, she hops out of the car saying goodbye and walking over to her house, She sneaks back in through the window and slowly creeps back up to her room. Lyra changes her clothes and brushes her hair before laying down in her bed. As she lays down in the comfort of her bed, she cant get this one thing out of her mind. Dorian. As Lyra drifts into sleep, one thing remains clear.. the night was a turning point. The unspoken tension and growing emotions between her and Dorian have set the stage for an undiscovered journey, leaving Lyra both thrilled and anxious about what the future could hold for herself and Dorian.
