The following morning after, the memories, secrets and stories from the night before float in the back of her head. Lyra always found it easy to forget things, or well, ignore them. Obviously she had fun, but didn't want to act nervous around her family around the breakfast table. Every thought but one left her mind. Dorian. She couldn't help herself from thinking about him, she had never felt like this for anyone before, matter of fact, she didn't even know what she was feeling.

"Lyra, are you alright sweetie? You look troubled." Her mum asks her. She was weirdly aggressive while saying this.

"I'm fine Mum," Lyra says back, trying to finish her breakfast fast so that she didn't have to stay at that awkward table that they called "family time". Once she finished her breakfast she head back up to her room. Lyra couldn't understand her feelings for Dorian, but she could paint them. And that's exactly what she did.

Lyra picks up her paintbrush, grabbing a empty canvas and resting it on her easel, she slowly begins to paint, it looked messy, but pretty. The strokes made the painting look beautiful. It was messy, but somehow managed to shape the perfect image of her feelings. Lyra admires the painting for a good few minutes. She thinks about Dorian for quite sometime, what did she feel for him? Was she attracted to him? She didn't know. Lyra thinks about when she shared the blanket with Dorian, sure she'd done it before, but this time felt different.

Lyra sighs, laying on her bed with her hands on her face. She then remembers something the Adrian had said to her before, "Sometimes the unspoken words are the most powerful," unfortunately, this had added layer of complexity to her feelings. Her mind then switches to her times at school with him, the occasional eye contact, the shared smiles they give to each other in classes when they're not sitting together.

Lyra spends the whole day thinking about him, she paced back and fourth between, painting and thinking, which was confusing her even more. Hours and hours passed but she could not work out her feelings for him, did she like him? Or did she not? She really didn't know.. She then remembers the group had planned to meet up tomorrow night, this filled her with excitement, but feeling slightly upset as to she had nothing to do for tonight. Lyra hadn't realized how much time passed by but before she knew it, it was time for dinner. Her little brothers opens her door.

"Mum and dad say that dinners ready." He says, looking around Lyra's room.

"Okay, give me a minute." She says back, getting up to head down stairs, quickly preparing herself for this awkward dinner.

This time, the dinner wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, there wasn't any annoying questions or awkward small talk, it was actually quite fun. This helped her get Dorian off her mind, until it was over and she crawled right back to her bedroom. She sat at the window near her bed, gazing up at the stars. Her future nights with and her friends, especially Dorian has become a canvas of possibilities, and Lyra is both the writer and the muse. Suddenly, Lyra remembers writing techniques that Adrian had given her, why doesn't she just write what she's thinking? Lucky for her, she had a spare journal. She hadn't meant to buy it, well she didn't buy it, her mum did, thought it was a sketch book and didn't both to check since it was pretty cheap. Lyra searches through her room trying to find the journal. After a few good minutes she finds it, with a happy sigh. She grabs her pencil and begins to write.

" 4/6/1986       Lyra's journal

Hi, I'm Lyra. It was a hot night on the day that I had snuck out with my friends, but it was the same night that I felt thrilled, excited and free. But those are not the only new feelings that I felt that night. During those moments I felt something different, nervous, confused, my heart would constantly beat fast around a certain someone. That someone was, Dorian. I had never felt anything like this before, I felt so weird.. I would occasionally make eye contact with him, but it felt different, everything was so different. I've known him for so long an  suddenly I'm feeling these ways around him. I have no idea what I'm doing or what's going to happen in the future between us, I'm scared.. But thrilled

- Confused Lyra. "

Once Lyra finished writing, she place her book on her night stand, and decided to just get ready for bed. She gets up and walks to her bathroom, brushing her teeth, then putting her hair into a bun. She walks back into her room, getting into her Pyjamas and laying in her bed. Letting her mind wander off.
