Lyra wakes up to the sunlight hitting her face, she still feels so exhausted but knows that if she doesn't get up, her parents will get upset with her. She glances over to the journal on her nightstand that hold a confession that she hopes no one will ever find out about. She rubs her eyes and finally picks up enough motivation to get out of bed, she grabs her journal and props it under her bed, hiding it so that no on else in the family can find it. Today was Monday, it was time for her to go to school. She rushes down stairs to eat her breakfast. Today her parents made pancakes, that's a surprise, with chocolate chips too? What's going on? She ignores her thoughts and decides to enjoy it while she still could. Once Lyra has done eating, she goes back up stairs to get ready, she starts by brushing her teeth, then quickly styling her hair. Lyra then puts on a red cardigan and some jeans that were a little too big for her.

She packs her bag and then heads off the school, saying goodbye to her parents and siblings.  The walk to school was boring, it was quite and only took around 7 minutes, but it was boring. Lyra arrives to school, navigating herself through the loud and crowed halls, her thoughts being a hurricane of emotions. Lyra was feeling extremely cheerful as she realised art class was first, it was no doubt her favourite class. The class was fun, the teacher mentions a surprise assignment. She didn't mind though, it was the perfect time for her to express her emotions into her work. After awhile, her art becomes the perfect reflection of her thoughts and feelings. It was perfect. It didn't talk long for the bell to ring for lunch.

The group decides to meet up for lunch, each member carrying echoes of the night they all shared together. They all exchange glances and talk about the first thing that came to their mind. Sophia, ever perceptive notices the tension between Lyra and Dorian. The conversation takes an unexpected turn, slowly getting on the topic of crushes. Unfortunately, when they're on the subject of crushes, Adrian pulls Lyra aside, them having a separate conversation.

Adrian, he was the most observant of the group, more observant than Sophia. Dorian glances over at Adrian and Lyra, he pouts. Sophia watches him a giggles, but making sure to keep her eye on Lyra and Adrian. Adrian begins to speak,

"I've noticed the way you act, towards and around Dorian. Is there something going on between you two" He asks her, in a quite whisper. Lyra chuckles nervously.

"Adrian, I don't know what I'm feeling, and it's confusing." She sighs, keeping her voice low just in case anyone can hear them.

"Ah, the Dorian enigma. Embrace it, Lyra. These feelings are like brushstrokes on the canvas of your heart." Of course Adrian would say something like this, he always knew what to say. Lyra raises and eyebrow.

"What should I do?" she askes him.

"Let your heart guide you."

"But what if it's all a mess?" Lyra's voice is shaky and sounds very nervous. Adrian nods,

"Messy can be beautiful. The tension between you two is like the contrast in a masterpiece. Don't fear it; let it unfold." His voice is smooth and calming, it was like her understood what Lyra felt.

"So, I should just go with it?" She's questions again. Adrian nods, and chuckles,

"Absolutely. Let your heart be the artist. You might find something extraordinary."

Lyra smiles, "Thank you, Adrian." She pulls him in for a hug, Dorian is watching them from the corner of his eye. He looks slightly agitated. Sophia notices this, and so does Luna, the two girls look at each other and giggle, continuing to talk to  Dorian, Mia, Noah and Ethan. Once Lyra and Adrian come back to the group, they all decide to plan their night out together. Lyra is excited for another night out, the others have done this tons of times but Lyra hasn't. She stands next to Dorian again, but he doesn't seem to happy.

The night starts like the other, Lyra getting picked up by Dorian with her friends in the back, he seems to be in a better mood than he was before. They all meet at their lake, Lyra is sitting at the edge while, Sophia, Mia, Ethan and Luna are swimming. Noah's back is against a tree and he's reading a book. Typical Noah, Dorian was grabbing his guitar and sat next to Lyra. Adrian was setting up blankets to sit on once everyone's done swimming.

Everyone gets out of the lake and sits in a circle, Dorian beings to play his guitar, this time not just for the group but specially Lyra. The melody has many mixed emotions reflecting the tension between Dorian and Lyra. The song ends after a few great minutes and everyone clapped.

"I have one more song to play," he sounds proud, "Lyra, this ones for you." Dorian's fingers begin to dance across the strings, the rest of the group giggling. Lyra feels herself blush but she smiles, Dorian occasionally looks up from his guitar while he plays, looking at her. After awhile of chatting everyone but Dorian and Lyra decide to go for another swim in the lake.

While the others swim, Lyra and Dorian find themselves engage in a deep conversation. Their talk reveals more about each other that they hadn't known for the longest time.

"You know, Lyra, there's something about the way you see the world that fascinate me," Dorian admits, looking at her with a grin. She can tell he's sincere about it.
"Oh, yeah? what's that?" Lyra asks him,
"I'm not sure, but I wish I did.." he responds.

The night carries on, Dorian and Lyra keep having conversations and soon the others join. To be completely honest, they both totally forgot that others were there. Lyra begins to tell the group one of her stories.

"I never thought I'd share that with anyone, " She glances at Dorian, he smiles, appreciating her vulnerability. Everyone soon begins to starts to take on their own conversations with one another, Dorian then turns to Lyra. He felt a growing connection between them and surprizes Lyra with a thoughtful gift. It could be anything, maybe a homemade gift, or another song.

"I saw this and thought of you," The boy says, handing her a small trinket. Lyra's eyes light up, taking the trinket into her own hands, smiling while admiring it.
"Aw! oh my gosh, thank you." Lyra's voice sounded so happy and grateful. The others in the group exchange glances while giggling together.

The night takes an unexpected turn when Dorian asks Lyra for a moonlit dance by the lake. Its a voluntary moment, and their friends cheer them on, turning the evening into a memorable moment.
"May I have this dance?" Dorian asks, extending his hand, and Lyra, Blushing takes it. Their friends create a makeshift dance floor, laughing and clapping while the two oblivious lovers share a dance together. Once the moment ends, Dorian and Lyra acknowledge their lingering attraction for each other. The conversation is fragile but genuine, allowing them to explore the possibility of something more.
"Do you feel it too?" Lyra's voice is soft. Dorian, hesitating for a moment, replies, "More than I thought I would." The group dynamic changes slightly as they notice their feelings for eachother.

The night eventually ends and and Lyra is back in her room, a pencil in one hand and her journal in the other. She begins to write;

"4/7/1986 Lyra's Journal

Today was fun, it took a turn I had never expected. Dorian and I were having deep conversations and sharing laughs together.. and after awhile, he asks me for a dance! I of course, accepted it and by the time it ended I notice how I actually felt for him and it ends up, he returns my feelings! I'm so excited for how the future may look for the both of us, she also gave me a little trinket, its adorable its currently on my bedside table. Maybe there is something more to discover in the canvas of hearts.

- Sincerely, Lyra.

Lyra is laying down on her bed, thinking about Dorian and things that may happen between them and she can't help to feel overly excited. While Lyra is in her bed. Dorians at his house, his parents were never really home so he had the house to himself, he sits in his bed. Re-thinking about the night until his Telephone begins to ring, he gets up to go and answer it,
"Hello?" He asks, confused as to why he was getting a call this late.
"Is this Dorian Creed?" The person on the other end of the line says,
"Yes, who is this?" He asks back
"I've been trying to contact you all night, I'm so sorry but --" Dorian drops the phone.
