right?

chris stares at his delivered messages. it's the next day and he's sure he's about to go crazy. did she turn off her read receipts? why isn't she replying?

when he walks into matt's room for advice on his situation, he suddenly thinks back to the moment he first told his brother about el.

"matt bro" chris shameless slams open his brothers door, walking in on him playing fortnite. he skipped school today.

his head shoots to him. "what?" he says as he pulls his headphones off one of his ears.

a smile is plastered all over chris'  face when he starts "look i met this girl in my class today." he takes a break before he goes on. "i've seen her before but i don't know today i felt the urge to talk to her, so i asked for a charger even though my phone was fully charged, just didn't know how to approach her."

matt tries to follow every word since chris is rambling, now fully taking off his headset. "so?"

chris cheeks turn pink before he answers "she actually asked for my insta, gotta text her right?"

"duh" matt hypes him up actually invested in this. chris never acts like this when it's about a girl. he's sure she's got something special.

"matt you don't understand she's so pretty and she just is chill like that you know? like she isn't the most beautiful girl walking on this earth." chris is shock by his own words, meaning them nonetheless.

so is matt. "you sound crazy but i'm here for it."

chris takes out his phone and opens instagram to dm gabriella. "her fucking profil oh my god and she's a dancer too bro" he shows his phone to matt but he can't help but notice the ginger friend next to her on one of the pictures. "how do i slide?"

"how about 'thanks for the charger again' ?" matt tries to actually help instead of scoffing and continue playing fortnite since he genuinely couldn't be less bothered by chris' business.

"you see bro, that's why you're single." he taps matt shoulder before eventually realizing that it might me better to talk to her in person rather than texting some weird shit.

so he did. everyday after that first conversation. in the back of his mind he always knew he wanted that girl to be his. he wanted to be by her side for the rest of his life. everything felt so right with her. everything made sense. everything was so easy. if it's not her, it's no one.

"matt," he crushes into his room. "what the fuck do i do?" he throws the question right at his brothers head.

"what are you talking about bro?" matt furrows his eyebrows at him.
