A fairy. A real fairy.

She couldn't speak. She just threw her hands in anger and made a lot of gesture. It looked like she was scolding me, but all I could hear was a bell-like voice. Maybe I was too stressed, or maybe it was because she looks so pitiful, but before I knew it, I was laughing.

She stopped moving. 'I'm sorry...haha...' I tried to talk as I was laughing. 'You just....haha....you just look so funny!'

The fairy started to laugh too. At that moment, I felt like something happened. It was as if our life had just connected. I didn't know whether she felt the same or not. All I know was our meeting was the start of my new adventure.

Golden dust appeared whenever she flew. After twirling a few times, the fairy threw her hands in the air and a sentence appeared.

'My name is Tinkerbell.'

'Nice to meet you, Tinkerbell.' I started slowly, cautious that she may not understand what I said. 'My name is Peter. Peter Nicholson'.

I extended my hand, offering a handshake. She looked at me, at my hand, and back me. Slowly, she extended her hand and place her palm on my forefinger. Carefully, I shook it.

I couldn't exactly remember what happened next. All I could remember was Tinkerbell talking about a place where I could stay. An island where you could be anything and do whatever you want. Where people like me live happily without ever thinking about work, or school, or chores. A place that would be perfect for me. It was an easy choice. I asked her to take me.

The next thing I knew, I was flying above a big island in the middle of the sea. It was only a green spot from above the clouds, but when we got closer, I couldn't help getting excited. It was full of trees, with beach stretching along the border. On one side, a big volcanic mountain stood, tall and big, with wispy steam coming from the peak. I was excited. It's an island full of adventure. I could already imagine how much fun I was going to have in this island. How many things I could explore. I couldn't even decide where to start.

'Oh!' I exclaimed. 'People!'

We landed on a clearing between the forest, but there was no one in sight. 'That's weird. I swear I saw someone.'

Tinkerbell gave a smug smile before flying off into some bushes. A few minutes passed before a head popped up, followed by several more. Tinkerbell reappeared and nudged—shoved—one of them. He was a slightly chubby boy wearing a big round glass. He tried to speak, but think better of it and tried to run back into the bush instead. The other boys caught him and whispered some words of encouragement. Slowly, he took a deep breath and faced me again.

'Welcome! To Neverland!' He seemed to show his biggest smile. 'We are The Lost Boys! The explorers of this world!'. That was how my adventure began.

'I'm going to win this time!' A shout pulls me away from my memories. The boy in front of me is getting further away.

'Oh no you don't!'  I lower my back and moves my legs faster. In mere seconds, I catch up to him.

'Huh? Wait! Peter!'

'Not waiting!' I stick out my tongue as I pass him. 'See you guys at the Lagoon!'

I can hear groans of frustration getting further away as the familiar cliff comes into view. I keep running before leaping from the edge. A splash, then, a cold sensation hit me. 'I win!' I declare, head bobbing on the water. I waited for their response, but nothing comes. I strain my ears, but I can't hear anything, not even Tinkerbell's bell-like voice. 'Huh? They aren't here yet?'

'No, they're not here yet.' An answer startles me. I look around, but no one is there. 'Over here, silly!' I follow the voice and stare at the rocks near cliffs. I swim closer until I see a silhouette.

'Hello?' As I get closer, the silhouette becomes clearer. It's a girl, sitting on her stomach. A human girl with no wings.

'Well, hello to you too.' Something moves near her. It's a tail. A fish tail, which is connected to the girl's body. The girl in front of me is a mermaid.  'I've never seen you before.'

'Me too!' I swim to one of the bigger rock. Carefully, I settle on it. 'I didn't know that there's a mermaid here.'

'Oh yeah, the fairies don't like me that much.' She sits up. 'That's why I don't show myself much around here.'

'How many of you are there?'

'Just me.' She flails her tail a bit. Look like she's hesitating to say something. 'There use to be more of us.'

'More mermaids? Sounds fun!'

She smiles a little before shaking her head. 'Girls' She looks up sadly. 'There used to be more girls here. Not too many though, only four.'

'Four? Where are they n-'

'SECOND!'

A sudden shouts, followed by a splash, echoes in the lagoon. A few seconds later, more splashes ring out. The Lost Boys are taking a swim after the heated Lagoon Race. The quiet place turn into chaos in mere seconds. I turn back to the mermaid, but she is nowhere to be seen. I skim through the surrounding, but there is no sign of her. I dunk my head into the water, but all I see is a cluster of kid's body, floating and kicking each other.

I float back up and is immediately greeted by Tinkerbell, flying excitedly. 'Tinkerbell, do you see a-'

'Peter!' The scrawny kid calls me as he gets closer. 'You're so fast! How did you do that?'

'Dunno' I answer flatly. 'I just run.'

'No way! First you're just running normally, then suddenly whoosh you're all the way on the front.'

I laugh at his explanation.

'Having a race?' A voice interrupts me. It's a strange voice. It's soft, but somehow, The Lost Boys and I can hear it just fine. I know, because, when the voice appear, we stop talking and start looking for the source. Then, I see Tinkerbell flying around excitedly. As the wind blows, a small, glittering ball of light appears, fluttering around. Another one appears, followed by another. Soon, several ball of light dance around before combining into one golden ball of light. The golden ball take shape of a small human. As it dims out, a figure emerges. It's a mature-looking fairy, dressed in a golden gown, complete with a pair of butterfly wings.

The lagoon turns clearer as a gentle breeze blows. The trees start rustling and I swear, I see some new flowers suddenly blooming on the ground. It looks as if nature itself is greeting the golden fairy. I look around and find The Lost Boys staring adoringly at her. I, on the other hand, don't know what to do. I have never seen this fairy before. She looks so different from Tinkerbell and her friends.

'Who are you?'

'My name is Titania. I am The Queen of the Fairies'
