Noah's P.O.V

I watched as they wheeled my little sister down the wide, long hallway on the gurney. I tried to dry my eyes, but the tears kept coming.

"Come on, buddy," Connor said and we started walking back toward the sitting area. Suddenly, there was a blood curdling scream come from the dim hallway.

"Hey, do you want us to go back with her? Just to make sure she's okay?" Connor asked Rosemary after Faith had been screaming off and on for a while.

"You don't understand, sweetie, as much as I would love to let you guys back there and make her feel better, the doctors gave me strict instructions about how they have to get as much blood in her as possible, prep her for X-Ray's, and her surgeries and they don't need family members interfering or anything." She looked at us with a very sympathetic look.

"Surgery? On what?" I asked.

"Well, her left arm for one thing, it's definitely broken. I mean, have you seen it? Then, they are going to do X-Rays on her knees, and if they are broken, then she will have to have surgery on those as well. But, if they aren't, although it doesn't look good, honey bun, then they will stitch those up too. What exactly happened?"

"Well, it's a long story," Connor said, laughing a little as he said it.

"Oh honey, I got the time. This place is usually dead until 7:30. Go ahead!" I laughed at her comment as Connor started telling her everything. He started with Robert and that one night at the bar and continued with the ice cream story. He basically summarized her whole life into just a few minutes. Somewhere in between when we were little and when her dancing career started, I heard the loudest blood curdling scream yet come from the back room. I jumped a little, then I heard her call our names a few times, until it slowly got quieter and quieter until you couldn't hear them anymore. When Connor was done talking, Rosemary looked sympathetic towards us.

"And, she's a dancer?" she asked quietly with some tears in her eyes.

"Yeah, well, at least she used to be. After this, I don't know how well she will recover," Connor put on one of his best sympathy faces and she bought into every word he said. Rosemary got a tissue from the pink and blue box on her desk and blew her nose into it.

"Well, let me tell you something, she is one of the luckiest girls I have ever met come into this hospital," she drew out every word.

"How do you figure?" I asked.

"She has you two. Between you carrying her to the car and getting her the band-aid to everything. You are like her support system, and, believe it or not, that's really what all these people need. And, from what it sounds like, she will be just fine if you stay by her side." I looked at Connor. She was right, and we would never leave. "Now, as fun as it has been talking to you cutie pies, I will go check on how your sister is doing and run a few errands. I should be back in about, mmm, 15 minutes. Brb, as the kids say," and then she left us. We went and sat down in the waiting room, but this time with one less person. The clock said 5:36 A.M. I took out my phone and checked my messages. 1 missed call from mom, 2 from dad , and 14 from Nathalie. Ugh, great. So not what I needed right now. I called her back.

"Oh my god, Noah! I can't believe you! First of all, it's 5:00 in the morning! Second of all, how dare you ignore my calls! If we are going to be in a serious relationship together, there is no reason you shouldn't talk to me! What was it this time? What's the excuse this time? Cuz, trust me, I would love to hear it!" Fine, she wants it, I'll give it to her.
