Rook POV:
I have no clue as to what is really going on but all I know is that I need to find Ivy...quick. The word that kept replaying in my head as I walk towards the forest is: 'they'. Could it mean that Ivy is hearing voices in her head? Right now it seems highly possible but that still doesn't discourage me from feeling the way I do about her.
"Yo this chick really is crazy." Slim mumbled as he walks behind me.
"Shut up, you don't know her." Kells and I snapped at the same exact time.
Slim sighed and rolled his eyes dramatically. "Neither do either of you."
"Well, I know enough. Let's just focus on finding her, okay?" I mumbled, feeling more and more uncomfortable by the moment; I didn't like the idea of Ivy being out here by herself, especially alone.
I hear a faint cry in the distance and I automatically know who it is. In a split second, I take off in the direction of the noise, not even stopping to tell anyone about it. Ivy doesn't need a whole bunch of people crowding around her right now anyway.
"Ivy?" I called.
"I-Is that you Rook? Please come get me, I don't want to be alone anymore." Her voice shook and my heart sunk. This girl is already starting to have a tremendous effect on me and I don't know if that will ever go away.
I guess Ivy saw me coming towards her because I heard a pair of footsteps running in my direction. A few seconds later, I felt a pair of thin arms wrap themselves around me. It's barely visible out here but I can still see the tears streaming down her cheeks. This is a sight I never want to see again.
"Oh my God." She cried.
I just stood there and held her. "Ssshh, it's okay. Nothing is going to hurt you."
"H-how do you know that?" Ivy mumbled against my chest.
"Because I'm going to do everything I can to make sure of it."
"Take me back now." She replied lifelessly.
"Okay." I picked Ivy up and carried her bridal style back to where everyone else is.
Once Kells spotted us, he sighed in relief. "Thank fuck you're okay." He came over to us.
I shook my head. "She's far from okay.
"Don't talk about me like I'm not here." Ivy whined, her head still buried in my chest.
"Sorry. Are you going to be alright for the rest of fEST or should we book you a flight?"
"I should probably go home....but."
"But what?" I asked.
I seriously don't want her to leave this early, she is a very complex being and I'm just beginning to scratch the surface of the enigma that is Ivy Brooks. I have never come in contact with a woman as interesting as her; sure there are some pretty odd things about her but normal is boring...right?
She looked up at me and frowned. "But I don't want to leave you. Rook, when you're around...they don't talk to me."
There that word goes again. They.
But my heart skipped a few beats when she told me that they don't talk to her when I'm around, so I must be doing something right? Us coming into each other's life was definitely not an accident and I'm 100% sure of it now.
I looked over at Kells, who probably heard the whole conversation. I was silently begging him to let me go back with her, wherever home is for her. I knew that Ivy couldn't stay with her being in this state and there's no question that I can't stay here without her.
K rolled his eyes and groaned. "For fucks sake Rookie, stop staring at me and just go book both of you a plane ticket." He smiled.
"Thanks bro."

Ivy POV
Rook and I ended up back in my NYC condo, doing nothing but eat, sleep, talk and watch Netflix together. I didn't want to do anything special, just having him in my presence made me feel a million times better. I opened up to him about the voices in my head, the voices that I have been hearing for the majority of my life. After I said everything that needed to be said, he didn't judge, he didn't laugh, he didn't see me differently. He simply understood and that's what I have been waiting for all of my life.
I didn't let him out of my sight for more than a few seconds at a time and I constantly craved to be in his arms.
He is my nicotine and I'm addicted.
As of right now, Rook is laying beside me in my Queen sized bed, sound asleep while I'm playing Candy Crush on his phone because I refuse to download it to my own phone. I looked over at him and I'm in awe, like always.
Awake, Rook was the badass drummer with a body full of tattoos and a perfect smile. Asleep, he is a complete angel; his whole face is relaxed and peaceful...it's a beautiful sight.
Suddenly his phone starts ringing in my hand and I contemplate ignoring the call just so I can keep playing candy crush but I notice the name "Jenna ❤️" come across the screen and I got curious.
"Hello?" I answer sweetly.
"Um.....who is this? Where is JP?" A female voice replied.
