I stare at Luke, my heart pounding. He stares back at me, his mouth agape.
As I stand there, soon all of the pieces come together. Luke, Cal, Mickey, and Ashley.
Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin.
At this moment, I'm not sure whether to run away, smile, or cry. Luke, on the other hand, stares at me before pushing past Calum and running off.
I glance toward Carm and Calum before I too run off, except after him.
I run inside where barely anyone is except for Luke and a few other passerbys. He's leaning against a railing, looking down at the floor below. I sigh to myself as I start to head over. "Luke," I say before I pause, contemplating what to say. "You probably hate me. I mean, I barely talked to you yet I talked to your friends. Not to mention, I didn't even tell you,"
"I don't hate you," he corrects as he turns around, looking at me but not making eye contact. "I couldn't hate you. You seemed to like me, but you didn't actually know me, you know?"
I shake my head, "I do like you Luke. You're like one of my best friends, believe it or not. I met you over the internet, sure, but that doesn't change anything. I was stupid for getting caught up with your friends. I guess the idea of guys talking to me was overwhelming,"
"It's fine, people usually like them better anyway. I mean, Calum is confident. Michael is funny. Ashton is well Ashton. Have you seen his biceps?"
I let out a small laugh, "Luke, I like you more than them. I barely know them."
"You barely know me," he defends and I raise an eyebrow. "I mean maybe. I don't know. I'm at a loss, aren't I?"
I sigh, stepping closer to him. "Luke," He turns away, staring down at the floor below once again. "Luke,"
I stare at him but to no avail.
"Hey I'm doing fine and I know I'm out of line," I sing just loud enough for Luke to hear. I lean to see a small smile on his face. "So let's sing this one more time,"
Luke turns just slightly, "It goes destination, permanent vacation," I smile widely, earning a smile from him in return.
Without that he pulls me into a hug which I happily return, my head tucked into his chest considering our height difference.
He rests his chin on top of my head, whilst pulling me tighter. "You know, I like talking to you," he tells me. "I don't talk to a lot of girls. I'm too awkward. With you, it's different,"
I pull away and just look up at him with a knowing look. "Seems we have something in common. I don't talk to a lot of guys. I'm too awkward,"
Luke laughs slightly, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. Must be a reflex around girls.
"Come on," I breathe out, sticking out a hand. "We have more to talk about but my queen is going to be on any moment now so,"
Luke raises an eyebrow and I just glance down at my hand again. With that, he takes me hand and I lead him back to our seats.
I smile seeing Calum in my seat, happily chatting with Carm who looks like she's on cloud nine. I decide to just sit behind them, leading Luke down the row to the adjacent seats.
As if on cue, the crowd begins to go wild. Looks like the show is starting.
This might be awesome after all.
