Lorelei is walking into the picture perfect Independence Inn.
The lobby is like something from a movie where the stars stay. People lugged suitcases all over the place. Michel is standing behind the wooden desk answering the phone in a condescending tone. The fire is sizzling in the corner of the room.
He is talking to a customer while Lorelei wanders behind the desk. She starts to work alongside him.
Then Drea walks in with her massive harp complaining to people. "Oh, no, don't move. Just ignore the tiny woman pushing the 200-pound instrument around. No, this is good, I like this."
Lorelei then starts to walk towards her.
A lady then leans down to tie her shoe infant of her.
"Oh yes lady just tie your shoe there."
"Hi Drea, could you be, uh, nicer to the guests."
"Uh sorry did you want a great harp player"
"Uh, yes."
"And did you get a great harp player?"
"Yes, I did." Lorelei says looking slightly defeated.
"Okay I am a great harp player and this is my great harp, okay? So if you're looking for someone to be nice to the guests get a harmonica player. Maybe someone who whistles through his nose. Okay? Capish?" Drea says getting annoyed.
She starts to push her harp further along the lobby complaining as she does so.
Lorelei walks back to a complaining Michel on the phone. Lorelei then helps a guest.
Rory then walks in a white sweater alongside Molly in a black one. They were both discussing a book they were both reading. Michel handed Lorelei the phone.
"What is your offspring doing?" Michel says surveying Molly digging around the desk and Rory checking the shelves.
"I need stamps. I'll take these." Molly says grabbing some.
Molly and Rory then say goodbye and walk away.
"Hey, you two, have Michel look at your French papers before you go." Lorelei says bringing her prized possessions back to her.
"Excuse me?" Michel says in an uninterested tone.
"That'd be great." Rory says coming back to the desk.
"No." Michel says.
"Come on, do it for us." Molly says putting on her puppy dog face.
"I'll tell all the ladies what a stud you are." Rory says gleaming at him but nudging Molly.
"Hm. I believe that memo has already been sent." Michel says smugly.
"Oh, please, Michel. Pretty please with sucre on top." Lorelei says in a French accent supporting her daughters. "I will stop talking like this."
"Leave it. I'll look at it if I get a chance." Michel says continuing his work.
"It's due tomorrow. And pay attention to the grammar." Rory says to him.
"You're my Prince Charming Michel." Molly says smiling at Lorelei.
Rory walks out and walks home whilst Molly walks towards the kitchen.
"I despise you." Michel says flipping through the check in book.
"Hm." Lorelei says pleased.
Lorelei then follows her daughter into the kitchen.
Sookie is sitting on the floor sitting next to a toppled sauce. Henry and Molly are crouched next to her. "Sookie what have you done?" Lorelei says crouching down next to her.
"What she always does. The world's greatest but clumsiest chef. But that sauce is really good." He says smiling at his mum.
"I need you to be careful." Lorelei says pleading with her.
"You may as well ask her to saw her own limb off than be more careful. She is more likely to saw her own limb off." Henry says laughing and Molly lets out a slight laugh before suppressing it.
"I'm sorry but I fixed the peach sauce." Sookie says happily.
"Mum, that is not what is important. You are what is important." Henry says rubbing her back.
"That's blood. Your bleeding. Why are you bleeding." Lorelei says concerned.
"Oh, my stitch's opened. I was using too much maple syrup, it strangled the fruit." Sookie says waving it off.
"You will outlive us all Sookie." Molly says with a grin.
"When did you get stitches." Lorelei says
"Friday Night." Henry says
"Radish Roses." Sookie says giggling reaching for the pan
Henry grabs it for her. "Mum soon you will become a glazed dessert if you keep going at this rate."
"Okay stop moving." Lorelei lays grabbing her arm.
"But you have to taste the sauce." Sookie says giggling.
"She has a point. It's delicious." Molly says dipping her finger back into the pot and Henry watches her place the finger back into her mouth.
"You have to try it whilst it's warm." Sookie says taking the pot from Henry and pushing it in front of Lorelei.
"Okay, oh, Sookie please be more careful. I need there to be fewer accidents."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Sookie says placing a spoon in her mouth.
"Oh, dear almighty. That's incredible!" Lorelei shouts. Henry high fives his mum. "I knew you could do it." Henry says patting his mum on the back.
"I want to put it on the waffles for breakfast." Sookie says smiling.
"I wanna bathe in that sauce." Lorelei says looking at it like it was coffee.
"Don't we all." Molly says agreeing.
"I will make more!" Sookie exclaimed raising her wounded hand in the air.
Henry takes the pot off her. "Someday we will open our own inn." Lorelei says grasping her hands.
"If the sauce is included, I'm there everyday." Henry says sitting on the kitchen side.
"I agree." Molly says sitting beside him, their hands lightly grazing the others.
"I will make this sauce till the day I die." Sookie says laughing.
"Ok we should be going." Molly says before kissing Sookie on the cheek and hugging her mum and Henry shortly follows when his mother is back on her feet.
"So where are we meeting Lane and Rory?" Henry asks.
"Lane's house."
"Lane's House! As is where Mrs Kim is." Henry says acting as if he was about to faint.
They start to walk into the town centre and Molly replies "yes the only house that is more religious than the actual church.
"So... I wanted to tell you something." Henry says his palms sweating and trying to find his courage.
"Yeah what's that." Molly says looking at him. To Henry she was perfect, he was the thing that lightened everyday but he could never tell her. How could he get a Gilmore Girl and he decided to try now in the middle of the afternoon.
"What was your coffee like this morning." He didn't ask her, would he ever ask her.
"That is a stupid question, of course my coffee was amazing." Molly says missing the point of the true question.
Then they see Lane and Rory.
"Rory! Lane!" Molly shouts running across the street and Henry shortly passing her.
"Hello you two." Lane says smiling and she stands by that those two would be a perfect couple.
The four of them walk into Kim's antiques.
"Mum, we're home!" Lane shouts.
"Am I still the only boy to be allowed to be your friend." Henry says smirking.
Henry got under Mrs Kim's soft spot when he asked for dumplings instead of pizza and said God is important at the age of 5.
"Unless you're Korean and becoming a doctor then no." Lane says shaking her head.
"Mum? Are you here!" Lane shouts again.
"We're open. Everything's half off." Mrs Kim responds.
"We have contact." Molly says laughing.
"Mrs Kim!" Henry shouts.
"Is that Henry St James?" Mrs Kim responds.
They start to wander the labyrinth that was the antique store.
"Yes Mrs Kim." Henry shouts back.
"Mum where are you!" Lane shouts.
"Lane where are you!" Mrs Kim shouts back.
Rory and Molly start to giggle at what has become an interesting pass time. Find some in Kim's antiques.
"Back here." Lane shouts
"Over here!" Mrs Kim shouts back.
"I think she's that way." Rory says pointing around the mass of wooden chairs.
The group shuffled through the tight aisles. Molly brushed shoulders with Henry. Goosebumps travels around his arms.
"Are we closer!" Henry shouts to Mrs Kim.
"I'm by the table!" Mrs Kim shouts.
"She's kidding right?" Molly asks thinking about the hundred tables this place might have.
"We'll meet you in the kitchen!" Lane shouts back.
"What!" Mrs Kim shouts.
"The kitchen!" They all shout in unison.
"Who's that?" Mrs Kim shouts.
"It's Rory, Molly and Henry! Jesus , she needs to organise this store." Lane shouts than whispers.
They all shuffle to the kitchen. Henry watching Molly's red hair pop against the black knitted jumper she is wearing.
"Oh." Mrs Kim shouts.
"She sounds disappointed? I wonder why?" Molly says.
Only Henry laughs. His cheeks go pink and he brushes his blonde hair out of his eyes.
"Come on. Stop it." Lane says trying to defend her mum. She didn't have much chance with this crowd.
"Why does your mother hate me?" Rory asks
"She doesn't hate you." Lane says.
"She hates Lorelei." Henry says smirking. "Unwed women and two babies out of wedlock. You hurt Jesus's heart." Henry says smirking.
Molly punches him in the arm. "Shut up." Henry rubbed his arm. He smirked at her and she smiled at him. Her emerald green eyes into his crystal blue eyes.
"Lovebirds. Snap out of it." Lane says.
"We're not lovebirds." Mollys says.
Molly is sure she could see Henry's heart drop but she may of been mistaken, he is smiling. She brushed it off and nodded.
"Tea is ready." Mrs Kim says "I have muffins with no dairy, no sugar, no wheat. Have to soak them in tea to make them soft to bite but they are very healthy." Mrs Kim says.
They all stand in the doorway. Henry behind them puts his fingers to his mouth and fake pukes.
Molly giggles and Mrs Kim glares at her. "What is funny"
"Nothing Mrs Kim." Mollys says pulling back her composure. This chapter very much follows the actual pilot but if you continue on it begins to take its own story in the next chapter
