SOON JESSUP made a sudden jump. He began screaming at the pair of us. "What did you do to me?!"
Me and Lucy Gray got up immediately - extremely startled. "Nothing, Jessup.."
I looked confused as I saw foam start spilling out of Jessup's mouth. I knew that something was dangerously wrong and he wouldn't stop until he killed us both, his condition wasn't just a disease. It was rabies, all the symptoms made absolute sense. The fear of water, the foam, the pent up anger and the fidgeting.
I quickly grabbed Lucy Gray's hand and we began running, our legs moved as fast as they possibly could and tstarted climbing up towards the hole to reach the arena and escape Jessup who was continuously screaming the same thing over and over again.
"Stop running!" He yelled, me and Lucy ran over to the stands, climbing the two pillars. "What did you do to me?" Jessup screamed, panting and breathless as he followed us up onto the pillars.
I stood infront of Lucy, guarding her as Jessup backed us both into debris that had fell from the roof.
"Jessup, calm-" Me and Lucy were sat down on the top of the pillars as we watched him stand up, looking down at us. The foam was coming from his lips, making him seem inhuman, animalistic.
I covered my eyes, slight tears streaming down my cheeks as I couldn't bare to look at him.
"What is happening to me?! What did you do to-"
A large drone swooped in, crashing into Jessup. I immediately jumped up. Why would they do that? Did they not know that he was scared-
All of my thoughts were stopped as Lucy tried to put out her hand for Jessup who had just screamed, falling back down onto the ground.
A large thud echoed in the arena.
"Jessup?" Lucy Gray called out, I watched as she crawled down towards him - guilt and regret in her voice that was coming stronger every time she spoke.
I soon followed her down as she kneeled over his body.. she tried to hold back her tears ; I could tell.
"I'm not going anywhere, okay?" She said, small sniffles inbetween words. "You watched over me, now I'm watching over you." I clutched my mouth as she said those words, dread washed over me as I kneeled down next to her, placing my hand on hers.
"Sleep now, Jessup. Sleep." We both moved our hands over his eyes, closing them so he could die in peace.
