Scout's eyes focused on the door of Engie's workshop,

"She's returned." Engie looked up from where he was working on a side project for Spy. He walked over to meet her by the door as she walked in,

"How'd it go with the doc?"
She flexed her hand gingerly,

" Good as new, according to the doc. Here's hoping it stays that way." She gave a small nod to Scout. His eyes brightened, he joined Engie to look over the Medic's handiwork.

"Holy crap! It's like nothing happened!" He gingerly turned Pyro's hand over in his own, the coldness of his metal hands contrasting with her warm ones. She flinched when he originally took her hand, but she seemed to relax as she realized he wasn't intending to injure her.

"Yea, it should be illegal how many miracles his Medi-gun can perform." Engie chuckled,

"We're lucky to have his abilities on our side. Even if he is a bit.... Unconventional at times. Word of warning: don't tell him you want to try out any new concoctions he's "perfecting.* Took me a solid two days to even leave my bed the last time...."

Scout was absorbing all this with rapt attention.

" Anything else I should know about? Nobody on the team is a nudist, right? I don't want to be patroling the base or your workshop and come across that. " Pyro tried not to laugh,

" Nope. Except maybe for Spy.... No one knows just what makes him tick." She paused before turning to address Engie, who'd gone back to tinkering.

" Where's he gonna stay by the way? " She pointed a thumb towards Scout.

" Well.... Originally I thought of having him stay here at night." She nodded as he continued,

" But then I realized he can't be much of a "companion" if he's cooped up in here all the time. So I was going to check if it was-"

"No. Absolutely not." She wasn't budging, a frown marring her face, her arms crossed. At this point the Scout butted in,

" What's a matter? Scared I'll be watching you sleep? Scared I'll tell everyone that you wear your gas mask to bed every night? " He smirked before lowering his voice, the robotic tinge making it eerie rather than humorous,

" Or..... Are you scared you'll actually enjoy my company?" With this last question, he'd leaned in closer as all three mercs stood by the door. Pyro immediately distanced herself,

" No. I'm not having him.... Lurking in the darkness with me. Screw that. You built him, he's your problem." With that she swiftly left Engie's workshop for the sanctuary of her living quarters.

Engie sighed, taking off his hat and massaging his temples,

" Dang it. This has all gone terribly. " Scout laid what he hoped was a comforting metal hand on Engineer's shoulder,

" I'm sorry; I didn't help by saying things to piss her off." Suddenly his eyes brightened,

"I got it! I'm gonna go talk to her and set things right. What room is hers?"

"On the other side of the base is the living quarters. We keep signs posted so Demo doesn't get lost when he's sober.

He was out the door before Engineer had time to warn him against that course of action. He only hoped everything in her room was as flame retardant as the Scoutbot....
