The sky is darker now, it's getting close to Adrian and I's favorite part of the day. Sunset. But he's nowhere to be found. I don't see him anywhere.
I scan the beach, but he's out of my sight. I take another sip of beer. I'm still not used to the taste, it is burning my tongue. I watch everyone talking to each other, people laughing. And I'm sad that I have no one here to laugh with. Damn, Adrian. What a good friend, leaving me here alone.
A while later, after amusing myself while watching teens laugh together, some fight. (Not fist fight, yell, shout fight) I realize I'm done with the whole can of beer. I look at the sun, and it's halfway gone. The sky is red, orange, yellow. Beautiful. Sunset. And no Adrian. I look at the other beer in my hand that Melody handed to me. I take a sip of it. Then another.
Before I know it, the sun is almost fully gone, and I'm grabbing my third beer out of the cooler. A guy with short red hair walks up to me, two other guys watching him from afar.
"Hey, do you want to down some beer with me and my friends?" He asks, smiling big.
The guys looking over at us wave.
"Yeah. I guess." I say. Maybe it's the beer talking, but I just don't care about Adrian not being here or what my mom said about not drinking right now. I just want to party!
Yeah, it's the beer talking. He leads me over to his friends. Another guy explains how it works, but it's pretty self-explanatory. Use a pocket knife to poke a hole in the side of a beer can, and drink all the beer as fast as you can. The redhead guy demonstrates, letting out a big burp afterward.
Then they hand me the pocket knife. I poke a hole in the can and quickly bring the can to my mouth. Beer sprays onto my neck and my cheek before I down the beer. I throw the empty can to the floor.
"Whoo!" I yell, throwing my hands in the air.
"Another time?! All of us?!" The other guy yells.
"Yes!" Me and redhead shout.
We all get a beer. The redhead pokes his can, and quickly passes the knife onto the other guy, who pokes his, then onto the other guy who eventually passes it to me.
After all of that, I have to pee. I tell the guys about it, and then I walk off. I am not doing too well right now. I am slurring words, and not thinking straight. How on earth will I sneak into my house?! I got beer all over my face and in my hair!
