So, apparently, as soon as they got off the bus, they ditched Grover. It was Persia's idea.

And honestly, he didn't want to leave her and just wait for Grover since he made it clear he'll stay by her side.

Though he didn't blame her for wanting to leave without Grover as he kept looking at Persia like she was going to die any second now and kept muttering "Why does this always happen?" or "Why does it always have to be sixth grade?".

It wasn't much of a surprise when as soon as they got off the bus, he had them wait for him while he went to the restroom, but instead of waiting she caught the first taxi uptown.

Izuku made sure to leave a text for Grover before he had to follow Persia to the taxi.

"East One-hundred-and-fourth and First" Persia told the driver as they got in before the taxi drove off

He had heard great things from her mother. Her name was Sally Jackson and according to Persia, she was the best person in the world, though, apparently that seemed to apply that she had the worse luck.

Her parents died in a plane crash when Sally had been five and was raised by an uncle who didn't care about her very much, she wanted to be a novelist so she had spent her high school working to save enough money for a college that had a good creative writing program.

Then her uncle had suddenly gotten cancer, and Sally had to quit school during her senior year to take care of him, and after he died, she was left with no money, no family and no diploma.

The only good break she ever got was meeting Persia's dad.

Persia had told Izuku that she didn't have any memories of him, maybe the warm glow and the barest trace of a smile from him.

Sally didn't like to talk about him, cause it would make her sad. She has no pictures of him, apparently they weren't married, but from what he had been told, Persia's dad was rich and important and that Sally's relationship with him was a secret.

And then one day, he had set sail across the Atlantic on some important journey and never came back.

Lost at sea, Persia had been told. He wasn't dead, just lost at sea.

Sally had worked in odd jobs, took night classes to get her high school diploma and raised Persia on her own. She had never complained or got mad, not even once, but both Izuku and Persia knew that she wasn't an easy girl to handle, and Izuku could see why.

But he wouldn't trade his love for Persia for anything in the world, ever.

Then, Sally married Gabe Ugliano, just the name alone made Izuku wenched in disgust, the man had only been nice for only thirty seconds before he showed his true colors as an asshole. When Persia was little, she had nicknamed him Smelly Gabe.

Persia described him as being the most disgusting man in the world, and between the two of them, they made Sally's life hard.

Izuku and Persia walked into the apartment as Persia hoped to see her mom home from work. But instead, Gabe was there in the living room playing poker with his buddies.

The Tv was on as chips and beer cans were all over the carpet floor.

Gabe barely looked as he had a cigar in his mouth "So, you're home. Who's your friend?" He asked

"Izuku. Where's my mom?" Persia asked

"Working, you got any cash?" Gabe asked

Izuku raised an eyebrow which twitched a bit "That's it?" He thought
